Seniors who enrolled in this sham program were told it was a part of medicare and have no idea that they signed on to a for-profit plan that bilks Medicare in their name and holds out necessary medical care when they need it. Because cutting the 13% giveaway to PRIVATE practices participating in Medicare that Bush doled out is MORE fiscal savings than the 10% cut to senoirs programming and public doctors. Go figure.. H.F. is looking out to make sure CORPORATE welfare is alive and well, even when it costs MORE money than Social Welfare. Kinda tells you a lot doesn't it?

i was in the hospital and saw fat, out of shape seniors who had destroyed their own health over years of self neglect. people like me who are middle aged that have good diet, exercise should not subsidize such people who neglect themselves

why not keep medicare advantage and allow people to make up their own minds about whether or not it's better than standard medicare? seems like we should keep the options open because health care is not one-size-fits-all. i agree with this video.

medicare advantage is the free market arm of medicare. democrats want to get rid of it and force everyone into the standard government insurance. i agree that it would be better to get rid of it entirely, but thats not happening anytime soon. sometimes it really is the lesser of 2 evils.

i agree, but it's not going away so we need to try to make it as least bad as possible. what happened when goldwater ran against medicare? he was destroyed. ron paul runs against it and no one votes for him(well, i did). americans love entitlements so us conservatives need to work to minimize their harm. i think thats what this video is really saying.

maybe we need to do like the rest of the politicians. just trick the people into thinking we are giving them what they want. problem is most true conservatives are straightforward about principles and won't just pander. we could probably get some things eliminated if we would just resort to trickery like the rest of them, but we don't tend to do that. maybe we should.

This is a scam and it makes me sick as an American that another American came up with it to prey upon our seniors.

So if you develop diabetes while on an advantage plan which doesn't cover the costs of diabetic supplies and a year goes by and you try to get into a supplement which does cover the cost of those supplies, you will be turned down. These are one year contracts and you can lose this coverage at anytime if the insurance company decides not to continue it. Benefits can change anytime they want to change them. If your doctor decides not to participate you are responsible for your health care costs.

If you switch to one and stay with it for more than a year, then you are not guaranteed a supplement but must answer all the qualifying questions.

These plans are not under the control of your state inusrance commissioner and in the case where supplements must cover certain state mandated benefits, these federal plans are not required to.

Yes your premiums are lower, but that doesn't mean your out of pocket is less. You actually are at risk to pay what your supplement would have covered if you had one and there are many risks involved in the half promise of coverage which does not cover everything.

You give up your actual medicare coverage and enter into an HMO with an insurance company that gets paid through your social security.

@Sifuchuck Medicare Part C (a.k.a. Medicare Advantage) is nothing more than insurance company special interest BULLSHIT. All of the health care items that are dealt with should've simply been covered with REAL Medicare, where the motive is actual health care, NOT profits!

It got worse with Medicare Part D, written by and for the pharmaceutical industry!

It amazes me that so many "conservatives" support this kind of shit and then complain about how expensive it is. Conservative my ass!
