I actually have the DVD, and I think they were Awesone! They epitomized all the emotions that the country, not to mention SF,w as going thru during those times. They were trying to liberate themselves from the veryday vie cotidienne that had made life so boring and unbearablem bya dding color, music, and the liberation to love one another the best way they could...And then of course, when they were invited to taste a bit of the "mainstream", that's when everything collapsed.
David Weissman did a feature documentary about them, not a narrative. (unless you're talking about another film) I was thinking of a big budget feature with crazy production design, funky make up and costumes, and stories of the band's members
