  • some sounds like Quake 3 arena

  • pc version looks better...

  • Why can't they just leave the games alone when porting over, why, this is a totally different game why is that good?

  • One of the best games imo, long and awesome story. You visit lots of different places plus you fight both human and undead which makes it spooky and more fun :D 5/5

  • i want a xbox

  • wish they'd recreate this game EXACTLY for ps3 and 360, the graphics would definitely be perfect, the AI wouldn't be so glitchy, the game wouldn't screw up and it would be awesome for all those wolfenstein fans who can't play their one anymore because it got lost or scratched or whatever. Mine works fine on PC, but I miss the extra levels my m8 had on his xbox which broke... out of a matter of interest, does the extended edition for PC have the extra lvls or just ET online?

  • @TheMattTrivium i like how they added levels, the tombs were my favourite, i especially liked playing it at my m8s on split screen on his xbox, lol we did this thing we called "birthday present" for some reason, with the dude at the other end of the hall after the 2nd trap. We ran past him and the wall n a zombie would burst out n take him by surprise, jump down and take the other guards then we would have fun seeking them out n blowing them up :)

  • I beat this game a few years ago but then it got all scratched up. I also had the mini-game.

  • I would want to see a mappack Recreation of the first Xbox Levels (the new ones).

  • wow better army of should kill army bad peoeple

i can kill bad people of army fuck nigga 1943 person it bring on it bleedyeah i know whoa good my that my land

  • Epic Intro to the Xbox Version, the Ps2 version also got a Epic one, but the PC just got BJ's face looking at you xD

  • I own both console versions, and I feel that the xbox version is better. I like both, but I can't seem to find more advantages to the ps2 version than what I could think of for the xbox. Maybe I like the multiplayer who knows. The coop mode in the xbox version is a bonus, but it is a shame you couldn't save, and you must complete the single player game to unlock the levels. Too bad the makers of call of duty world at war didn't learn from that mistake.

  • "I'm almost completely against emulation. "

    Why is that?

When I bought a 360, I enjoyed getting old xbox games that were BC with the 360. And I had a blast with em!

  • Because, emulation is very seldom authentic or perfect. Be it glitches, "enhancements" and such. I only play the games they're meant to be played.

If the chip of an older system is included for backwards compatibility (like the PS2 or Wii) it's alright. But software emulation never feels right.

The only exception I make for emulation is fan translations.

  • Hmm, I havent encountered that many problems with emulation.

And didnt you say in another video, that you dont care about playing new games on its fullest graphics? :) So if you want perfection in emulation, then why not graphics and framerates? I believe you mentioned something like that in the video you showed crysis in.

  • Because, the game is made to be played on a certain console system, with a specific controller, with the specific positives and negatives. Improving graphics or framerate past what it was when it was released makes the game not authentic. It doesn't improve the game, it cheapens it.

I respectfully play the games the way they were meant to be played when they were released.

  • Authenticity has nothing to do with graphics and framerates. Respectfully playing the games the way they were meant to be is what keeps games special.

If a game's a port, it's tooled to be played on a specific system. An emulation is just a downright lazy effort that isn't worth my time.

  • " respectfully play the games the way they were meant to be played when they were released. "

But dont you prefer the Painkiller xbox version? ;)

    Just kidding...

I guees we just have to agree to disagree :)

Every new game comes without alot of options for the player. The ability to set the controls to his/her liking, cursor, etc. So as long as the gameplay is intact and so on, then I dont see the difference in playing a game with the original xbox controller vs the 360.

  • Yes, we'll disagree. :P

Besides XBox Painkiller's a port, not emulation.

Speaking of XBox emulation on the 360, it's far from perfect. A large amount of games still don't work, and there's a bunch of problems with the working ones. POP: Sands of Time, for instance, doesn't allow you to play the classic games on the 360.

  • True, BC isnt that good on the 360. Actually, BC isnt very good for this generation at all!

Predator Concrete Jungle, Black, Splinter Cell Double Agent and Stubbs the Zombie are the xbox games I bought for my 360, and they work great!

I like being able to run most of my games on one system. Ive mostly been a pc gamer, so I like that ability. So I really hope Microsoft or Sony takes BC more seriously next gen.

  • I normally play Single player on the original xbox, but when I play multiplayer, I play on the 360. I feel that if I play on my original xbox way too much, it might break, and since I already own two sets of 360 parts, where the second set came from a smashed 360, I can play on my 360 until it breaks down. If I lose my xbox, then that would be that, and I'm nitpicky on keeping my consoles operational.

  • I forgot to mention in my last comment, for PC games, I'm nitpicky on emulation, and I feel that it would be the best experience to play the classic doom and heretic on a good old 486. The reason I don't do that is because my 486 is in poor shape, and turning it on might wreck it, hence me being afraid of using my xbox as opposed to the 360. Ah the days of loom, monkey island, day of the tentacle, rise of the dragon, super mario brothers VGA etc. Dosbox just couldn't beat a 486.

  • @elbryan42 when you play a console port of a first person shooter game, your look movement is severely crippled in speed and accuracy because they are made for and suited to the keyboard and mouse... this is the same difference when playing a game on an emulator instead of the actual machine.. i think a lot of the reasons people give for prefering to play on real hardware is a load of ill-thought-out shite..

  • @emuholic The main argument against emulation is they want the game to run perfectly as they were intended. Well, if they want that then emulators can bring you closer to that perfect as intended look than actual hardware in most instances, as they are the only way to allow these games to be seen with the bright crisp colourful vibrancy that these games were programmed to have, which is lost on actual hardware, such as the NES and N64 with their crap video output.

  • xbox 1 games that work on the 360 do actually look better on 360 than on xbox1 because of the output being better.. HDMI with upscaling makes RGB and SVIDEO look really poor. High def TVs are the BEST way of playing games as these modern high def TVs are capable of showing fine detail, better clarity and colour, with no picture distortion... so play these old games with more modern hardware (through emulation) to get a true perfect as intended look -- and experience -- out of them

  • ... and don't listen to those that say real hardware is best because they aren't looking at this deeply enough because they have problems thinking properly... thanks for reading

  • @elbryan42 I second that, but only to a minor degree. I'm all for emulation of older systems, but only when the hardware has become easiloy emulatable, and the games have been long forgotten, such as GameBoy emulator. I find it to be a form of preservation, if you ask me. I do not like emulators of disc-based systems, as the legality on those are iffy, not to mention MUCH more broken than a cartridge or chip emulator. It's dependent upon how much time has passed for me.

  • I think this version have better grafics no?

  • Yeah, the weapons seem to be less accurate than the PS2 version.

  • I liked the PC version better.

But cool having a new episode though.

  • There is a mistake in the vid description ;)

  • A functional x-box emulator under which you started this game?

  • I NEVER emulate. This is on a real XBox.

  • damage I think if you have a functional x-box emulator?

  • Never ever had an XBox emulator. What's the point? I'm almost completely against emulation.

  • Not because I should be a way to enable emulation and PC users.

So I'm a big enthusiast emulators and I hope to find someone who tells me that an xbox emuláror really exists.

  • So all the levels are different from the PC version?

  • Nope, just a new prequel episode.

  • i didn't know the xbox and pc versions had a different campaign :P

  • Just the first episode. The PC levels start after seven levels.

  • 6:18 THAT'S RIGHT!!! KILL' EM ALL! AND TAKE THEIR TASTY FOOD TOO!!!!

The differences I see so far from the top of my head are that the health display is redesigned and the level is in the evening.

  • There's also no guy working on the motorcycle. Also, there's only gold bars and chalices as treasure.

  • Also, breaking crates open destroy the entire crate, not just breaking the side off and seeing the inside of the crate. No level intro screens and lazy loading screens.

Oh yeah, and those guys throw the barrel down the stairs on the XBox. And some enemies have middle-eastern garb on, but they're the same enemies.

I think I covered all that the video shows. There's more differences in later levels.

A lot of subtle differences, but it really changes the feel of the game. Especially the HUD.

  • I hate the HUD on the Xbox, especially the health shower, its way better when its shown in numbers than in some diagramme, and the sound effects are kind of bad on the weapons, though i like the way the MP40 looks here :)

  • Those are some pretty minor differences, I personally didn't experience much of a difference between the ps2 and xbox versions, but that's just my opinion.

  • 5/5
