The surge hasn't been "SUCCESSFUL". It's still not safe to walk the streets of Iraq. (That's why you don't see reporters doing live shots with the Iraqi people in the neighborhoods). The Iraqi government still isn't able to function without us being there. There is less killing of American soldiers, but still 25-50 too many per month.

Intersting fact: No one tracks the death of the Iraqi Civilians. Today's the 9th and there's already over 148 Iraqi civilians who have been killed this month.

Obama has admitted the surge has been largely successful. Obama doesn't see it as a sign of winning overall in Iraq. Even I, who support Obama, disagreed with him and supported the surge. The troops are priority. But I hands down agree with Obama that it's foolish to think that because the surge worked we're winning in Iraq. It's a different political world over there.
