On this date in 1960 {Feb. 1st} "Sixteen Reasons" entered the Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it would peaked at No. 3 and spent a total of 24 weeks in the Top 100. During the time this record was on the charts Ms. Stevens was playing Cricket Blake on the ABC network private eye TV series "77 Sunset Strip"!!!
She was a semi regular on the TV show 77 Sunset Strip and she appeard vocally on the Edward "Kookie" Burns recording "Kookie, Kookie lend me your comb".
@Timei Thanks but I don't really care! I love Connie and her voice. Doesn't matter to me whether she was miming or not. leNOIRfae was questioning it, not me.
In 1959, my senior in high school, I loved this song and Connie Stevens. My high school girlfriend that I was madly in love with bought me the record and after all of these years, I still have the record. Not the girl.
I was able to meet Connie and I have a photo us us together. Made my day.
Connie was a very (very) bright young lady with very big (very big) ambitions whose enthusiasm, friendliness and squeaky clean persona got her very far in show business very fast. As a singer she had a small instrument but knew just how to use it and when it came to her albums she was an active participant in the themes and material. She knew how to package herself and she knew her audience. She was strictly professional, on time, prepared, cooperative and a pleasure to work with.
Wow,, that's really interesting to hear because that's the way she always seemed to me as a kid. I always looked up to her as being someone I admired and wanted to emulate.
Great performance from the pretty Connie Stevens ..the nice thing is she has not changed still attractive and her niceness is real!! God Bless Connie still performing in 2011 you cant keep a top talent down!!

Nobody sings like this anymore... now it's all very gimmicky, full of big gestures and volume... I much prefer this slightly understated, behind-the-beat style of singing.
we all wanted a girlfriend that looks like connie, back in the day when she was on that wonderful tv show...hawaii eye.....hot and sexy...and she could sing...
I think this song was from 1959 or 60. I was 13 in 1960 and it was REALLY popular. Connie was THE hottest women on TV at the time and I was in love with her back then. She did a few albums but was in a lot of movies and was in a TV series called "Sunset Strip" I think also. Great memories. Thanks Connie.
Connie is directing her 2nd feature film, Prairie Bones. Look it up on Facebook. Her first directing effort, Saving Grace B. Jones was a moving, heartfelt film and she's sure to do a great job with Prairie Bones, a historical drama that takes place on the Nebraska prairie in the 1870s.
In what film is a cover with this song, "sung" with playback by a brown-haired lovely lady shown? In the same film: 'I told every little star' right after?
Yes, it was easy to fall in love with Connie Stevens back in the 60's. Great song and a great looking lady. I'm thankful I was a part of it. It was a great place to be and a great place to go back "home" to in one's mind.
ligray68, LOL. Great comment! Make room for me! Boy, does 1966 look good! Memories of angora sweaters, school dances in the gym, praying the chaperones would leave the lights low, low, low. I vote one of our talented posters does a 1966-themed movie for Sixteen-at least- (splendid) Reasons. :)
Does anyone remember the song " Surfer Joe " and the year it was out.If so maybe someone can upload it. It was cool back then and haven't heard it for some time now but loved itas we partied on the beach on weekends etc.,etc.,etc. Once I start I can't stop,,,,Ahhhhh those sweet memories of the 60's
Just a thought ,,,is therte a way to make a you tube site called " Heading back to the 60's in my 66 GTO " just for older people to upload there favourites from those years and make a 60's radio
My GTO is getting full so you have to hurry up to get a seat. Leaving on New Years Eve ! My wife and I still listen to one of our favourites by the Turtles from ? 67 ? So Happy Together,,,and we still are 42 years and going slow but still going. Let me know if you want a ride back to the glorious 1960's ,,the world we left behind. but it's still there in our music.
Eddie Fisher, God rest his soul, was a fool to give her up. Or maybe it was the other way around. What a gorgeous dish Connie Stevens was in a sweet innocent time in our history; an era the likes of which we'll never see again.
connie had to have the most sexist voice not to mention her beautiful voice..and georgous...face...outstanding body...tell me that guy didn't want to jump her bones...
ligray68,,,just reminded me of my trip back to 1966 again . Connie Stevens is one reason I know there is a God,,, she is a REAL ,,,,,10+ ,,, for sure and gettin better everyday!

@royzone12 oooooo! sounds like fun!!! I would love to time travel with you for a day to those sweet innocent times!! I wasn't there but I know ppl. who were and it would be so fun to see what their life was really like! I love Connie Francis and I always sing Lipstick on your Collar at karaoke, never heard this song but so glad I discovered it! It's so wonderful.
@royzone12 I'm 61, and what I would give to go back to those times also !!! I'm like you, I also think about it every single day that goes by. Literally !! I collect music from that era, and when playing one of these oldies, I'll close my eyes and remember the first time I heard the song. Bring that GTO by my house and pick me up. I'd go back to that era in a heartbeat.
Her voice is extremely amazing and heartwarming. My parents use to play this whenever they played oldies--that fueled my love for this song and older music. Now, this is one of my favorite songs!
Someone here said it must have been great to growup in the60's and yes it was!! I remember long hot summers, surfing was in and they had some of the best songs then. Connie Stevens, Joanie Sommers, Shelley Fabray, James Darren and so on. It was a time I will never forget.
@Robert4770 No, you are wrong. Earthlings have ALWAYS fucked with animals. Time to change your point of view. You're so vain, you don't even know that this is Animal Planet. And this is no time to mince words. Words are all we have.
@etbella3 We play fair. Time to put the message out into cyberspace. Some of us knew this was Animal Planet. And for all intelligent life in the universe, pass it on - not all earthlings ate mustang burgers. When most of this planet is destroyed, somewhere there will be a time capsule of Beatles songs and the youtube video of Paul McCartney telling earthlings Go Vegan and Save the World. Our proudest accomplishment on Planet Earth -- Paul McCartney. The cute Beatle. And meek as the day is long.
This sweet love song was my 2nd favorite of that year, 1960, It was kept out of my unofficial top spot by China Doll, a pop song that may be unfamiliar with many, it was sung by Bobby Swanson. I've never seen this video until it was posed on youtube...one more reason I dig the charm in Connies voice. Thx4 postin'
