Su tecnica es bien depurada y es rapido de manos ... En Cuba decimos Lo que Dios te dio que San Pedro te lo bendiga... ahora vi muchas cosas especialmente en la parte 1 donde me recordo a Tata Guines y a Changuito y en efecto Changuito lo ayudo mucho en su carrera,yo simpre digo hay que ir a la mata a aprender seas de donde seas,y a La Habana hay que ir a aprender,yo lopongo a la altura de Sandoval,Chucho Valdes cada uno en sus intrumentos por supuesto.

@oscartimbales Richie Flores toca bien, es muy bueno, pero no se compara para nada con Giovanni, Richie siempre repite los mismos paradiles en sus solos, siempre toca cruzando los brazos para impresionar, las mismas rafagas, ya es muy predecible, en cambio Giovanni es totalmente innovador!!! te recomiendo mas a Anga Diaz, toca mejor que Richie.

Giovanny está tocado por la mano de Dios, los demás sólo pueden recoger lo que él deja cuando toca. Para dar puntuaciones de si alguien es bueno o malo están los demás, Giovanny está por encima de eso, todos los demás congueros lo saben, aunque muchos no se atrevan a reconocerlo.

Bueno no soy igual de bueno que ellos pero soy percussionista y conozco muy bien la simetria y los rudimientos de la percussion en este caso la pegada de giovanni tecnica y sonido y simetria precision y rudimientos e aplicacion superan a paoli nunca dije que paoli no sea uno de los mejores en el mundo lo es y uno de mis preferidos es el pero a cesar lo de cesar y a giovanni lo de el

One of my main influences! His "language" on the congas n on the Timbales is incredible! I play every kind of music I come across, and when I came across Latin music in 2000, he was one of the 1rst Latin musicians I heard besides Changuito, another master! His independence is also crazy!...

I've watched Giovanni for over 20 years and you better believe he's the best then comes Paoli Mejias Ive bet you've never heard of "Jaque Mate" thats "Check Mate" for the "no hablo..." community. Anyway percussion is like all in life; evolution baby. You now sound humble and intelligent. I use to do the same, before I learned that Salsa is really Son Cubano, with "jazzy" arrangenments for the horns, developed by mostly Ricans in NY. You know, Cubans have the Songo and a dozen other things, and we still know what we have had, and will have, and we are happy about it. C and PR need to learn to respect each other, for we are "de un pajaro las dos alas", like it or not.

The man has a tremendous amount of talent, but I think that he, like many other congueros, is in a competition on who could play the fastest. He never developes a melody. Do not get me wrong though, the man has bullets for hands! Great Vid.

Hi, DjShill18. cumbachero1 states the truth. Giovanni is probably one of the greatest musicians alive. As with other greats such as......Elvin Jones....it is the responsibility of the listener to open his ears and mind.  What GH does with melody is ridiculously sophisticated and is most appreciated by those willing to study it. Jack DeJohnette also comes to mind when I think of this kind of virtuosity.

and still, I heard him saying in a Guitar Center presentation in Texas, that top congueros (incl him, Machito, Mongo, Patato, Barreto, Poncho..)were not better from each other, that they all just had different styles of expresing them selves on their drums. This cabron is really humble, other than being a hard worker m.f. and well educated in his shit, he is also humble. That is a big plus in this line of work.
