@mccluckinxx I never rode it either:\ I could never get pass the gigantic blue face with sharp teeth lol,and the dog coming out of the window also scared the shit outta me lmao the ride its self was scarier on the outside than on the inside lol awww I miss Bell's:(
Great vid, although it doesn't do the ride justice, lots of darkness on the vid.....so many great scenes in this ride and I remember it being one of the best dark rides I've ever been on along with the Spelunker's Cave at Six Flags over Texas which is also no longer.
Thanks for the memory. This is when they changed the ride and took out the two dips. There was one in the start of the ride after you turned the corner and the second was when you come out of the house. They took them out because stuffed animals kept getting stuck in the tracks
The city of Tulsa wouldnt renew their lease and that ended up making the decision of tearing it down. It was one of the best places to go in Tulsa. A lot of fun there. Wasn't in the best part of town but it kept the kids entertained. There have been rumors since the closing that they would move to places like Bixby, Jenks, Broken Arrow, and Claremore. But none never happened.
I used to ride this, when the cart went Inside I would get out & get In the cart In front & go through that outside part & when the cart went back Inside then get back In the cart behind. There Is or was a amusement park close to Mohawk park Google Tank Vision Econo It reminds of that park, I have the R3 which most People prefer. Also Google TulsaTruth. ORG
bell's was the shizznit !!! anyone who would remove it is a moron.but then our lives are all ruled pretty much by morons.and fun and art are just nothing to these creeps.anyway.the most sadest part is when they get rid of things kids love due to some bullcrap.kids need things to love.otherwise they turn to whatever else they can find.drugs,gangs,violence.back in the day you could be happy at bell's with a slurpee some cotton candy.these rides and some hot chicks to flirt with
I love this ride also, I always rode it every year just to find out if something has changed, I also loved the log ride rode it several times a year thanks to our hot summers, the sky ride was also fun enjoyed watching everyone have fun at bells
its been a loooong time since i rode that ride, but I dont remember the nightmare on elm street music at all, its kinda corny that they put that in there, even though the music is scary
My sister, Madeline Whitlow used to work @ Bell's back in the 70's. She used to operate the Phantasmagoira on Friday night's during the summers, the Octopus on Saturday afternoons. The ride changed my life at 5 years old. It will be missed.
Randi Miller, she may be a Tulsa native, but she looks like an Orange Blossom Trail prostitute and Kathy Taylor is from OKC if she wanted to get rid of an amusement park, why not become mayor of her own hometown and bulldoze Frontier City?
Tulsans don't take kindly to crooked mayors and commissioners. They will be voted out for next term, and my name is not Rob Bell, or one of the thousands of Camelot Hotel supporters.
It'a a shame this ride was demolished, except for the inside props. As a Tulsan, I would have loved to see it on the midway at a fair in FL where I live now. After all, they have those crooks the Murphy Brothers here already. He goes out of state to earn his bribe money, and I'd like to see him thrown out of every fairground here.
Something was definitely unsettling about the decision to evict them. Their was a bill trying to annex the fairgrounds to be under control of the city, who wanted to keep the fairgrounds as 4 out of 5 of the councilmen had already voted, but the mayor delayed the annexation until -just- after the date Bell's had to be out of there.
Just today, we took our son to the Tulsa zoo where he threw a penny in a wishing well. I listened to him making his wish, which was that the Phantasmagoria would come back. It still amazes me that he is fascinated with a ride he rode a year and a half ago...when he was only three years old. After he made his wish, I mumbled that I wished Randi Miller were standing behind him to hear that.
Man, this is the best darkride I've ever been in. I remember way back when the track had a drop in it out front and there was a water wall feature blocking your exit, then it would shut off. RIP Bells.
Supposedly, the "girl" in the black thong{03:15}was nude at one time---as your car approached, the mannequin would spin around to reveal "she" was a rotted corpse!
I was hoping it would spin around. Long time ride operators have also told me that they used to hide out in the Phantas to spook people as they went by..and one guy used to fall out of the bus.
i just bought all the wooden flowers from the outside of the ride... at the vintage tulsa show! thanks for putting this video up!

I went on this ride once when I was 10, and it scared the living crap outta me. Shame to see it go though.

my friends and i were yelling all kinds of naughty words during a ride, and i thought the ride operators did that to make us shut up.
i wasn't scared, just worried they'd kick my 12 year old ass out for yelling "cunt-fucker!" at the top of my lungs.
