  • Great group and two words....Chris Hilllman!

  • I saw this band live back in the 80s, and they do sound exactly like their recordings when they perform in person. They've performed together like clockwork in various combinations for many years even before the DRB was formed. We should respect these great musicians.

  • @jdh501 Saw them too in the late 80's. Jorgenson had left at that point, but think the rest of the original members were still with them best I recall. As a musician of many years, have seen many shows. This was an awesome show! Respect is a good adjective. These guys are all A pickers.

  • @jamesskb Yeah, that's right. I saw them in 1985 in Southern California.

    Great performers.

  • @jamesskb oops, I meant 1989, not 1985. It was in Ventura, CA.

  • These guys are just the best! Thanks

  • Amazing live performance, too bad I never grew listening to this...

  • When my dad died this song was the glue that kept me from going insane. I lost a very dear friend today & this song is for him.

  • Chris Hillman and crew are timeless!! Sounds as good as when I first heard them in the '80's! Thanks for posting!!

  • If anyone can follow their fingers and knows their guitar neck at all..Yoy would know they are actually playing live!

  • I can definitely verify - NO LIP-SYNCING HERE, FOLKS!

  • No lip sync goin on here, these guys really were this good! Arguably the best bluegrass/pop/rock band ever formed.

  • The hot band, Ricky skaggs country band , desert rose band .....three of the greatest bands in country music.

  • Thank god for the desert rose band

  • One of the best bands ever imho

  • You guys hit #10 in Billboard, 10-13-90. God bless y'all, DRB!

  • Its Live, Cause that bass player is out of of tune in places

  • Uhhh...they were singing this live. It's easy to tell This is not a canned song.

  • Chris Hillman at his superb best. Great song! Live they are as good as on record. The sign of real musicians.

  • Great band, once more is my favorite song

  • This was one of my favorite songs in 1990. This band is awesome! Now THIS is country!

  • Either way,it is still Chris's sweet voice.

  • This ain't pre-recorded.....we're talking about the best musicians in the business!! You can clearly see and hear the Pedersen's Flatt's G-run on the 0:08.

  • Pre-recorded... very few of the steel guitar parts are like the album. Jay Dee is one of the greats. Love that old Emmons guitar!!!

  • This isn't identical to the album, I have just listened to it and although its close there are quite a few subtle differences......or did you mean pre recorded on this stage for the show ?

JD defined his groups sound I think , the whole band are awesome but JD is more than awesome, and a sound to die for from that emmons guitar and talented hands.

  • Haha love the way he pretend to adjust the microphone. It's all prerecorded! Class.

  • These guys aren't lip-synching. I never saw anything but live performances on Ralph Emory's show. What's your beef with Chris Hillman?

  • I have to agree with SMR Hillman, without thinking, stops playin g to adjust his mic. You can see the realization on his face when he goes ...oh shit..and grabs his guitar

  • No, DRB never mimed or prerecorded anything. All top class/studio musicians! Don't forget Herb also played the akoustic. DRB was famous because the could copy the album sound to live occasions

  • @SumnerMurrayRedstone Thios is not over dubbed in any way. I recently saw the Desert Rose Band in person and believe me they are full capable of playing great at any time.

  • Yes one of the best bands in country music, with talent like these folks have it couldn't fail to be that way.

  • Hard to believe that a singing voice as fine as Chris Hillman's was hidden in the background when he was with The Byrds. Saw him live with Herb Pedersen two summers back at The Oregon Zoo Amphitheater and his voice hadn't aged a bit.

  • Sometimes it's best to keep the snakes under ground. ;)

  • The best memories, growing up with the drb on the radio.

  • I love this tune! Thanks for posting it!

  • One of the greatest Bands in Folk/Countrymusic of all time!! Her style is absolutly outstanding!
