The Celica has to be the most dressed up to be fast, that isn't, car on the road. You have to boost it so it will catch up to it's looks. The RX 8 is another poser, but the Celica GT takes the cake. My wimpy auto Sunfire will walk a Celica GT!
I've raced many SI's in an 01 GTS (the fast ones with 8300 redline). It's neck and neck through first and second, with the honda pulling a TINY bit ahead. Once the GTS hits third though it pulls and pulls on the SI. I've never lost ONCE to any SI. That said, I don't think a GTS will beat a stock s2000. Finally, I can say that if this car IS boosted, it's very mild. It can't be more than 5 or 6psi. Once he gets the car tuned, it'll beat the s2000 pretty easily. Both nice cars.

Also there are a thousand you tube vids of bolt on 7th gen celica gts's doing top speed runs in all of them are barely accelerating after 125 and are topping out around 140. Stock s2000's are slowing down in the 140 range topping out in the 155 range. No way in hell a gts out runs an s2000 on topend with out help dont take my word for it, watch some vids then respond.

Crank walk in 7bolts are just common enough to make it an issue.
Intact 6bolts get it too. It's just not as effective, because of a different position sensor. But the crank play itself actualy exists there too. Quite often
Btw, that particular GT motor. Not the gt-s one, is the worst pos ever. Can't even last 150k miles usualy. Cause of crappy crank bearings. It's similar to crank walk with dsm's. Look it up. Most GT guys swap it for the GT-s motors for that same reason.
@11secSTideadbolt crank walk is NOT an issue for DSM's...it only happened in 7 bolt motors and ONLY 2% of those motors ever crank walked. so you should do your research before you make a comment.

No need to hate on civics and call them trash because those things do work. I have great taste in cars and know for a fact that almost every car is great. Im pretty sure it takes a real person to build any car out their. Don't get me wrong, i love my Mr2s, Celicas, and Supras. It takes a real person with good taste to have respect for any car.

Crank walk in 7bolts are just common enough to make it an issue.
Intact 6bolts get it too. It's just not as effective, because of a different position sensor. But the crank play itself actualy exists there too. Quite often

Btw, that particular GT motor. Not the gt-s one, is the worst pos ever. Can't even last 150k miles usualy. Cause of crappy crank bearings. It's similar to crank walk with dsm's. Look it up. Most GT guys swap it for the GT-s motors for that same reason.

@arbitortc the 2k has way more top end then a celica, 6 speed with a long throw 5ht and 6th 2k doesnt even have a turbo and it lags in 1st gear but its top end is insane having owned a 2k, celica all track, celica gt-s, and toyota supra the drive of the celica was either not ready or doesnt know how to drive
