I long for a reanactment with reanactors who actually look like they are enjoying themselves and have a bit more of a blood lust than the big overweight men who just swing a sword like its some kind of play thing. :/ They look like warriors, just don't act like them. :p

well we aint all fattys and i was fighting in the saxon centre (deffo the fattyist side =D) it was fun just its hard to make a scripted fight look fun without it being all theatrical u should catch some competative fights with people running about and dead droping everywhere niow there impresive :)

The 1066 Hastings show is a multi-group event with reenactors from all over the world. It's enough to try and ensure everyone's in more-or less accurate kit. As for not wearing helmets, there's too much armour on the field anyway and head-blows are completely ruled out.
