  • This was a cool show. They put "Gazebo Front" on the flyer so they were incognito. Lungfish played. I think it was the first time I saw Lungfish. Juliana Experience as well, and Fidelity Jones. Great times.

  • girl with the camera, amy?

  • is that guy?

    he looks like Van Diesel

  • I think the dude behind the amp was Jack Black in the 80's

  • Brendan Canty is a phenomenal drummer!

  • was this recorded on a calculator

  • @compaqyea ? 1989, good quality for the time

  • @compaqyea yeah strange they couldnt afford a HD Camera in '89

  • was this filmed with a calculator?

  • @forry90 No, it was filmed with an 80's camera. So, probably equivalent to a modern calculator.

  • dancing is missing in rock these days

  • This is weird but i like it, unlike any music ive heard. Would it be fair to describe this as stream of consciousness music?

  • If I had been there to see this in person, I would have assumed it was a joke. How is this anything like music?

  • @sedcontra you poor soul

  • @sedcontra seriously man, your a cunt

  • Respond to this video... I Love this song. It's like a clever nursery rhyme, it sticks in my head. Not for everyone though. My son says it sounds like foxes mating!

  • 0:07 dude behind the amp is definitely trippin!

  • @Bradc19

  • never think id see someone play a rickenbacker in a hardcore/post-hardcore band 0_0

  • I remember them in Georgetown at night .. I was high and drunk on my way to see front line assembly

  • Woah - I almost thought this was a cover! Seriously didn't recognise Guy or Ian for the first 30 seconds. Haha, crazy.

  • why doesnt he join minor threat with fugazi to make the unstoppable and, like a turtle taped to another turtle....fucking unstoppable.

  • 耳をツンザかれるようなギターの音

    硬質かつ躍動感溢れるリズム隊

    叫ぶ イアン・マッケイ

    素晴らしいバンドだ

  • gold

  • Observe how Guy's hair is ACTUALLY SHORTER THAN IAN'S. That shit never happens. It's like seeing a unicorn goring bigfoot.

  • Just a little too much feedback for my liking. But a decent gig.

  • saw em this same year.amazing.period.

  • wow, glad they got out alive.

  • The year I was born... I fucking love this band

  • @FrankoFlesh hear, hear!

  • Fuck yes!!

  • never herd that sound come from a rickenbacker guitar before shooking really

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry to be a negative Nelly but this sucks. Minor Threat was so great and this is just tripe, screaming over the same slow riff played over and over again. Borrrrring. I remember seeing one of their first shows after MT broke up; walked out after 5 or 6 songs shaking my head saying "OK, it's over". Look at these comments..."beautiful"..."awesome"....."honest"...an honest band?? Wtf does that even mean?

  • @jonnymayofigaro Different people like different things. It happens.

  • fucking wow

  • I love Ian's shirt! SOUL SIDE!!! What happend to soulside??? hot bodi gram???

  • I wanna rock out with those girls on the side of the stage :)

  • I wait I wait I wait" has got to be one of the catchiest lyrics ever written.

  • Love the ancient cameras the front row fans have-- pre-digital

  • this bass line is the shit. Minor Threat was crazy yo but this is awesome

  • two cunts disliked this....

  • presented ladies and gents in super painful mono panned right..not hating just a shame with some great footage..still ..can't have it all eh?

  • Awww Man.... I want the "ting ting tingtingtingting" sound just after he says "repeater"!!....

  • gotta love D.C. 930 club is still successful, even if they play alotta shit nowadays.

  • Guy Picciotto might not be the most technical player, but he certainly is one of the best guitarists to ever pick up the instrument.

  • I know it's old as hell material but ya gotta rehearse before you get out there. A junky mess. Who the hell applauds this stinky stink?

  • @ShabadooWilkins

I"ve never responded to a comment before... ever. But you are a royal fucktard for making that comment. It's supposed to be dirty and punked out you tool shed. keep practicing your blowjobby tech guitar riffs.

  • I've lived in DC for four years now, and I can't imagine anything this great ever happening in Dupont today. Someone with more talent than me, please bring back the DC scene.

  • yeah man i live in DC for the first 8 years of life i was actually born the ear they shot this video was shot and i cant beleive they let this concert happen! DC is so uptight about that shit. i remeber taking the metro to dupont circle to go to school across town and man i never saw a songle band in all those years i was there.

  • there are still some really good dc bands

some are on dischord (the aquarium) and some are unknown (impereal china)

  • still a lot of good bands coming out of DC and discord records. check out antelope

  • Dude, if we could get another fest together like this in DC that would be amazing.

  • @yankeehatinactor ive lived here almost my entire life...nothing cool like this ever happens in DC. except for seeing ian or guy walking around :)

  • The Lungfish show the previous day was absolutely fuckin amazing. Of course, there were like only 10 people into Lungfish there and the rest were homeless and curious yuppies just passing through. Post it if you have it!

  • you are a fool

  • fuck you

  • look at the kid next to Joe's face at 0:13.

roots of the scene haircut? lol

  • Haha, the kids in the background crack me up.

  • I take it you mean the two in the bright sweaters? Crack me up too, with the thumbs in the belt-loops like some 70's metal throwbacks. Bless them!!!

  • Yes. Haha.

  • I want to go back in time and buy them both Slush Puppies.

  • But, they may look dumb, but they are having fun I'm sure. To each his own, when it comes to the way we dress.

  • Believe me. I think they are GREAT!!!!!

The little blondie wins by a head....

  • these songs are fucking awesome. Too bad i wasn't born yet hahahahahahahahhaah

  • Too bad I would have been born two years later...

  • August in Washington DC...if Washingtonians can't have comfortable weather, they can at least have Fugazi, thank God! :)

  • it was october, i believe, sir.

  • Yeah, I just realised that I had confused the month this video was posted with the month it was actually filmed. I realised that as soon as I hit the 'post comment' button. :p Still, I don't remember DC cooling off that much come October anyway. lol

  • they formed me

  • fugazi are awesome, but they fucked up repeater on that one!

  • And I get dissed for saying the same thing...

  • I love Fugazi, 3 of the greatest concerts that I have ever experienced.

  • So natural...

  • Nicholas Brothers, coltrane, dylan, kraftwerk, beatles, ramones, dalai lama, warren buffett, need i go on. same shit different vehicle.

fugazi is probably teh most honest band i have ever experienced.

    fucking hells word up!!!

  • fugazi ...part of my inner inner life. permant fixture in me

like 85 in an elevator and someone humms 1-2-3...you'

ll go repeater. you know lol anyways...blahblkah

  • o....and i was there. sweet sweet memories.

  • nice video

  • Revolver? It's Repeater sir.

  • You sir are an idiot

  • Revolver was an album by the Beatles. Go tell Paul McCartney how much you enjoyed Waiting Room though. I'm sure he'll be quite amused to hear that! haha

  • In 1989 I was at the MVA in Rockville, Maryland getting my driving licence.

Oh and don't worry about being drunk on YouTube. Christ I do it all the time! lol

  • (fugazi is a straightedge band, and he's drunk. hes trying to insult people)

  • thats a personal thing, not everyones choice, fuck i like to have a swally and a smoke. Dont mean im a bad person.

  • I am telling the truth when I tell you Mckay got beer for me when I was 19....mister edge.

  • i was at this show sir and it sounded like shit because, i believe, the quality of this person's recording equipment (remember, it was 1989). there is other footage of this show and it sounds fine (not so tinny), so...don't blame fugazi. check out "fugazi washington d.c." and you will see....

  • Agreed.
