There is no way working a minimum wage job that you can pay for all of tuition and living expenses for a year.. figure minimum wage is about 8.67.. after taxes about 7.50... so 300 a week, 52 weeks in the year, 15,600 grand total... half spent on tuition at least not counting books and other school supplies... Then add in food, transportation, housing, if you have a kid add in child care, diapers, clothes etc... It is not possible you have to get out side aid....

I met this guy who went to WSU at this internship last summer. I think he hit on every girl in the dorm, drank constantly, and broke his ankle whilst drunk one AFTERNOON.
I think his use of 'squirrels' is an analogy of us as students as a whole. According to him, we simply come to eat, drink, & breed ... in a perpetual state of inebriation [& otherwise doing nothing to better the university, & blindly following others].
I agree that this was a ridiculously clever way to get a point across, but I also agree that the list of complaints was petty. There is little that can be done about budget cuts. & complaining about the email, Cisco, RDA, & Gen Ed? Come on.

By the time the second class I had in Sloan today started, they managed to stop this from playing but my professor decided to show the class anyway.... Which I think should be the attitude taken by all at WSU. Unfortunately, the higher ups think more about security than what liberties are actually taken with the security holes and flaws. Everyone should instead be looking at what we can learn from this, not who we should punish.

My favorite was his complaint about WSU email not letting you forward. Log in to my.wsu click on change address or phone number on the left, then click change email forwarding. If you were smart enough to take over the projectors you would think you could figure that out. The prank was cool but the reason was stupid. Also hacking government computers warrants a much harsher punishment so watch out.

Great job getting into the projectors and even though I agree with you, your message should have been much stronger (on the website). GenEd classes are pointless and the incompetence by some of the counselors, advisors, and teachers seriously needs to be addressed. Also, even though I know it's a hard time for the university with all the budget cuts, the university should be spending it's resources more wisely and not keep trying to rip off the students.
Also it does bother me that a G. Fawkes persona was used to get the message across because I feel that it's not culturally relevant to most people, even if they've seen the movie.
Non WSU student here, sounds like this was a pretty sweet hack, although I feel the motives for it are a little lackluster and engineering focused. Being outside of the school it's hard for me say. Keep on rootin'.

I think his use of 'squirrels' is an analogy of us as students as a whole. According to him, we simply come to eat, drink, & breed ... in a perpetual state of inebriation [& otherwise doing nothing to better the university, & blindly following others].

By the time the second class I had in Sloan today started, they managed to stop this from playing but my professor decided to show the class anyway.... Which I think should be the attitude taken by all at WSU. Unfortunately, the higher ups think more about security than what liberties are actually taken with the security holes and flaws. Everyone should instead be looking at what we can learn from this, not who we should punish.

My favorite was his complaint about WSU email not letting you forward. Log in to my.wsu click on change address or phone number on the left, then click change email forwarding. If you were smart enough to take over the projectors you would think you could figure that out. The prank was cool but the reason was stupid. Also hacking government computers warrants a much harsher punishment so watch out.

Great job getting into the projectors and even though I agree with you, your message should have been much stronger (on the website). GenEd classes are pointless and the incompetence by some of the counselors, advisors, and teachers seriously needs to be addressed. Also, even though I know it's a hard time for the university with all the budget cuts, the university should be spending it's resources more wisely and not keep trying to rip off the students.
