All that spinning is flashy, but I don't see how it would be very effective. Yes, you probably have enough power to knock a knife out of someone's hand. But doing a spin-attack at someone's head, etc., doesn't seem like it would have the mass or power to be much more than a glancing blow. Seems such a baton would be far more damaging using the short end for thrusts, instead of the long end, and that's thrusting straight on--not swinging it around with no more force than the baton's own weight.

It's interesting to see this. Most law enforcement training with the PR-24 (or other side-handle batons) generally emphasizes simple basic techniques and not too terribly many variations like presented here. Good video, dude.

Tonfa is more practical because you can do many leverage moves and take downs. In real confrontations with criminals or drunks they will almost always try to grab or wrestle with you before they throw a punch. It's also quite easy to learn. Nunchaku is way too easy to kill someone with, or have them rebound and hit you.

As a mixed martial artists I must say I really enjoyed that video, Not only did you have allot of flashy moves in there, but you had actual affective and real life senario grappling and countering techniques , and you don't see that in youtube weapon demo vids. u just see flashy. Also I noticed the good breathing in the video.

tonfas comes at different lenghth fine one that fit you arm . Also be sure that your arm is full extended while it is spinning and practice, practice ,and practice to control the rotation . The timing is very in portant (when to tight your grip).
