Since you only have 40 pounds to go is there a reason you haven't moved to OWL? You want to make sure you have enough time to go through all the rungs before maintenance.
Also, as for the question from your listener. Definitely check the nuts (remember 1oz not 5gr) and cheese but a lot of low carb stalls come from not eating enough food. Also, Some people on OWL get so caught up in eating the new foods they stop getting there veggies. The 3 cups a day is minimum.
I would also want to know if they are exercising. Atkins says Exercise is non-negociable and you need to eat more when you are exercising. A lot of people stall when they don't eat enough. When I moved to OWL my losses went up significantly. Last, a stall is defined as no loss for 4 weeks that includes measurements. a lot of times the body adjusts and you shrink without losing. Going back to induction during that time is NOT GOOD.
Thanks for your comments however I think the large amount of cheese and nuts they were eating was causing a stall. In my personal op going back into induction is the way to go!
Yeah, I'm always surprised how many people don't realize Atkins limits nuts and cheese and how frequently it is a stall food. I am pretty careful about the 1oz limits but man, if I got over 3oz I end up eating more all day long. It just sets me off for overeating.
There is nothing wrong with staying in induction for longer than 2 weeks. bowulf (Kent) stayed in for almost a year if i remember correctly from his videos. For most, weight loss is more rapid in induction and that is why some people stay there for longer than 2 weeks.
Very true, my main concern was the amount of weight you have left to loose and the speed it's coming off. As you add in more foods you use weight loss as the barometer of your bodies reactions to new foods, Since most people naturally slow down during the last months of loss, OWL can be complicated. It's important to have weight still left to lose in order to move through OWL IMO. I think Bowulf had 100 pounds to lose but If it's working for you great! I was just trying to help.

Well said! Nuts kill me! It's so easy to eat 3 or 4 oz in no time!
