The interviewer is not being harsh. That's the normal tone for Vietnamese. She's telling them all to speak up and say what they want, and what they are asking for, and getting them to tell their story. They all just want to be treated fairly as everyone else, and to be recognized by their biological parents.  But most importantly, they want to given the same rights as everyone to live a free life with equality.

There was no humanistic tone whatsoever...she acted as though they were a burden to her! I think she was a Vietnamese official and not an American.
