I have often thought of that. I remember reading Olaudah Equiano's story and I remember crying uncontrollably when I thought of his mother whom he was very close to how she must have felt to come home and to discover that her son and daughter had been kidnapped! Even Shaka Zulu's mfecane (or dificane, depending on your point of view) wouldn't have happened without the weakening of kingdoms by portuguese slavehunting.
