IIRC the used to play in a place called the Quad Room in a bowling alley ... Either La Mesa or Clairmont? But Puckett had one of the stellar voices of the 60's!
This brings back memories of our school trip from Glasgow to Millport in 1967. It was a beautiful day -my friends and I hired a boat and one of them had a radio-this was playing in the background. Oh happy days ! Donna

Having a father that was 21 when this song came out (1968) and met Gary the year before in a bar in Phoenix alongside Glenn Campbell, who was known for his studio work such as Pet Sounds with Brian Wilson and many other artists, it's very cool to me being 21 that I met Gary last year in Champaign, Illinois. Great performer and very cool to talk to. Very laid back guy but can put on one hell of a show!

Gary Puckett and the Union Gap were one of my favorite groups in the 60's. Gary's voice is remarkable. I play lots of Union Gap songs on my trumpet.
