  • thats a rase

  • More like spec v vs maxima :P

  • VQ all day senn

  • hola sabes alguna paguina donde pueda comprar un motor vq 35 para un sentra ser con qr 25 agredeceria si me orientaras chido tu carro

  • i dont know why nissan didnt put the 3.5 in the ser sentra would of gave the other one hell of a run

  • "OH MY GODD!!!" Hahahahaha.

  • Next time don't use a calculator to film videos

  • daaaaamn

  • what the fuck did you put a 3.5 engine in that ser

  • man i want that engine for my sentra

anyone kno how much it cost to do a vq35de swap? like tranny n shit

  • @fastblack09 about 7500

  • @bossydude man thats kinda alot of money!

  • @fastblack09 my 03 sentra ser spec v is on its 3rd motor if the first one was replaced with the v35 it might of not needed the 3rd or even the first as the v35 should of been thrown in there from the start

The butterfly valves and pre-cat kill the engine every time with no recalls.

  • lo que tiene adentro es una bestia!!!

  • OMG that must have been a sweet feeling

  • Do your parents know your a bad driver and have a shitty car?

  • The spirit of a 350z in the body of a sleerp

  • @jabba12000 Its actually the Maxima engine thats in the car. FWD as opposed to RWD

  • what kind of motor does the blue spec have?? thanks

  • sweet i would do this swap in a heartbeat!

  • dam, a VQ swap on a 2002 SER is a monster. The power to weight ratio is perfect for the swap. The SER is light as hell, plus the nissan's monster v6 motor. Dam, i'm friggin drooling. I was always drooling for this. I gotta get one.

  • SPEC V VS. SPEC Z ;)

  • Hey trav. I need this!!

    Thanks

  • Wish i had the money to do the swap.

  • as an owner of a 6 spd max i bet those ser vq swaps would be insane to drive

  • what can beat an ser in a race? an ser

  • one time, two SER's raced each other. They both won

  • @pancakewafflebacon

i can notice you are a big car fan!! you really know about those wonderful things

  • @georgibubu ... and physics

  • @pancakewafflebacon sigh... noobs that doesnt know a difference between QR and VQ..

    plz stfo...

  • @ericklgh you sad bro

  • Comment removed

  • Not bad. Wonder how a VQ spec v would hold up against my altima

  • This car runs 12.90's @ 105mph.. as do most of the other bolted VQ swapped Specs that I've built over the years.

  • Thats a pretty low trap speed for that ET

  • Umm.. not really.. It is indicative of a car that's actually hooking up (1.7-1.8 60ft), instead of spinning halfway down the track, like most FWD cars.

  • i plan to swap in the 3.5 in the future.

  • fuku222 u r a fucking idiot!! i said vq35 and a turbo... fucking read the shit before you make yourself look like an idiot!!!! you can tell from your name on here that you have no friends

  • We built a turbo VQ30 powered Spec V a few years ago, and it was nutty.. Never took it to the track, but, it felt like it had 11's in it, at least.

We're currently building a turbo VQ35 powered Spec V, and plan to keep it streetable. But, it should easily go mid-low 11's on slicks.

    Travis

  • is the VQ swap OBD 2 compliant i want to do it...fuckin emissons

  • Yes.. we offer options to make it OBDII compliant. Check us out at myspec-v (dot) com.

    Travis

  • @Trav4011 you cannot pass obd ii with your swap, when it is plugged it shows altima computer thus failing inspection due to illegal swap in north carolina!!!!!!!!

  • @cacloans i got tired of calling travis with no returned calls. He cannot pass your inspection if you are obdII

  • hahaha i would say that swap was well worth the money

  • think how fast our car would be with the vq35 and and turbo... im thinking 10 second car...

  • Yeah, throw a stock 300hp motor in it and it will make 10 seconds for sure.

    Moron.

  • Stock VQ35 that we use makes 255hp, and around 235-245whp with all of the bolt-on's. This puts it at around 12.90 @ 104-105mph. It would take a LOT of work to get this chassis into the 11's. Making power is easy.. getting it to hook is the hard part. We can't fit anything taller than a 24.5" slick, which is the biggest problem.

  • VQ35 runs 12's with bolt ons? thats impressive

  • Yup.. 12.90 is the norm, with sticky tires, and a good driver.

  • We built this car years ago.. and it was sold to the current owner. Check us out at myspec-v . net

    Travis

  • so can we get more on this car? maybe a look under the hood, even just talk to the guy and ask him how he did it blah blah, that would make for a great youtube channel in itself even.

  • camera man commit suicide please

  • lol

  • VQ swapped into a SE-R? Interesting...

  • yep! lol 350z engine

  • wrong... altima SE-R engine

    front wheel drive

  • wrong! same engine.

  • Yes, obviously FWD. The VQ35 is the same engine block that's in the Maxima, Altima (3.5 SL/SE/SE-R), 350Z, G35, Pathfinder, Murano, Quest, M35, I could go on..

it's the same block..just designed to be transversely mounted for FWD. They do have different headers, intakes, etc.

  • yea its the same engine number its just set up differently

  • still the 350z's engine

  • yeah i know exactly what you mean bro my girl just gotta 2005 altima 3.5 se 5spd and shes just getting the hang of the stick (sexy when a girl drives a stick ;) anyways we went from a 50 roll my 2004 hemi ram with 410hp and 460tq (slight mods) her 2005 alti 3.5 stock i had it in drive and she was in 2nd and we honked 3 times and she lept ahead of me by 2 almost 3 car lengths immediately shifted in to 3rd once she hit 65 and i gained and passed her at 75 but she had INSTANTANEOUS POWER!!!!

  • Spec v for sale 05 34k miles if any1 interested jose03j at yahoo 6,200 obo

  • That's not a bad price at all!

    I got my 06 for 6k.

  • you still have it?

  • oh yes, that's the ominous hum of instant power that the Altima's VQ35 has burned into the back of my brain. There is no mistaking that engine's note.

  • The maxima and the Z carry the same VQ motor. Only difference between the two is the Z has a different throttle body.

  • what about the two air intakes that the Z has and the one air intake and shitty software that the maxima gets?

  • my Z doesnt have the two intakes the newer VQ blocks have em, i want it though but hey its still a Z lol

  • yes it is.

its also in the altima seR's,g35's and nissan murano/infiniti fx35ive seen a couple sentras with a vq35de in them, and thy use a maxima transmission

  • i'm assuming they use the automatic tranny and not the manual one, correct?

  • Noooo, I asked travis about an auto Getting the Vq swap n he told me i would wanna get the manual swap done as well . .

  • Isn't it also the Maxima's engine?

  • iv seen it in some altimas

  • @snsh13 yes but you can find them cheapest in an old junkyard under the hood of a nissan quest minivan

  • @snsh13 no the v35 are from the Ultima

  • @DragonRoLo The VQ35 is from the Maxima, Altima 3.5 and 350Z.. They all share the same engine.

  • @snsh13 Dont forget the Murano, G35, M35, and FX35

  • OMG wow someone got smoked!

  • what is vq35 and what does it do? examples? i dont realley know about nissan even tho i just baught an ser

  • esta bueno el tuyo tambien, gracias... oye y cuantos whp le sacaste con la AEM???

  • amazing pull.

  • do you really got a vq35 in dat son a bitch

  • que!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well trav4011 is the guy you need to talk to about how much.

  • i have a 03 silver spec-v and i was wondering what exactly is the vq3.5 and how much did it cost to swap the engines?

  • It's what Nissan puts in Altimas, Maximas and 350Zs and it would cost you about 5k. I think they use the VQ35 from the Altima because it's FWD and fits realy well.

  • 5k? I got mine for 800 bucks with warranty and all. There are plenty for under a grand.

  • Sure, you can buy a cheap, high mileage VQ35 for under a grand, but, you won't get a turn-key, installed low mileage VQ35 into a Sentra for anywhere near that price. I've been doing this for 2 years, and I know what it takes to do it right. It's a 2 week job, and requires a bunch of different parts, many of which we designed and had mass produced specifically for our company/this swap.

  • nice job travis on the swap.

  • Nice to see Matt's old car is still in action.. This was one of the cleanest VQ swaps that I've done..

  • Travis... will the VQ swap pass inspection?

  • Forget turbo..I love the VQ sound...I might just get a swap now...but how long is the wait list?

  • Just for your advice.. I know 8psi SC61 that beats VQ Specs. And Do some SERIOUS research before any purchase.

  • Ok.. I know of a VQ Spec with a 125 shot, that will take out just about any turbo QR powered Spec V out there.

It's all about personal preference.. Some people like to run 12's, while still retaining reliability, and driveability.

  • If i can rape a VQ B13 with a 125 shot with traction bar with bolt ons.. I highly doubt a VQ B15+125(which is heavier) can out pull me ANYDAY.. Like i said coming from your all about the VQ just like honda boys with their K20.... I stand for QRs at lease when you build then. Im not doubting the VQ dont get me wrong.. Just VQ people need to get off their High Chairs... So no means of Disrespect. IN due time My Spec will Meet Scottie in TX for a good run.

  • I love the QR.. I mean, I only built the craziest one on the planet (destroked, 9K rpm, 600hp QR).. ;-)

The VQ is a better option.. Sorry.. I've been there, done that, in every way, shape or form. I've built some nasty QR's, but, they just have thier inherrent issues. Which is why they've never caught on in the import scene as the "next big thing".

BTW, I just went 12.20's @ 110+ in a N/A VQ Swapped, full weight Spec V. Check out my videos! :)

    Travis

  • I gotta agree with travis.

you DO know who he is, right?

  • hahaah QR is a 16valve 4 cylinder, I find it hard to believe u got 600hp out of one but then again the only thing QR about that engine u have is the name.

  • travis is talking about the destroked SQR23 he built for charles. There's a dyno video floating around with his old turbo he made over 500hp. I don't know what he put down after changing his turbo.

  • So, (in your opinion), a "16 valve 4 cylinder" can't make 600hp?

We made 500whp (560-570chp) with the little SC61 on Charles' destroked QR, a few years ago. It has a 67mm on it, now.. and hasn't been back on the dyno since.

  • Yeah that's my opinion of the QR, but I guess you could get something like those numbers with the right power adders. Mind telling me how you did it tho, just so I know you're not talking a gang a shit?

  • Well.. for starters, you can check out our dyno tuning video.. It's on my video page. The car made 500whp, and this was several years ago.. that was maxed out on 880cc injectors @ 19psi with the little SC61. As far as how it was accomplished.. we started with a 91mm AEBS sleeved block.. from there, we machined a stock, 86mm SR crank to fit.. then had Cunningham make us a set of rods, and CP make us a set of pistons.. Valvetrains consists of 288* cams with 11mm lift, and our QR spring/retainer.

  • Hah wow... That's a little more convincing when you list off those modifications/upgrades. Sounds like a nasty beast by the time its finished thus the 500whp lmao. You guys have gone mad with power, let me just say that and nothing else.

  • Oh and yeah I will check out your video page. And tell you what I think. :)

  • wow... is this the same travis from back in the day from the b15 forum....if so, i remember when you first started out messing with these cars like me back in 02 when the spec v first came out and you were doing big things back then when we were talking about swapping the vq.

  • Yeah.. same ole.. Still toolin around with Sentra's.. ;) Remember my old B15 SE? First SR20DET swapped B15, and still the only B15 that I know of to break into the 11's. :)

  • That's a Negative.. B15 here ran a 11.2 on a test n tune before i converted into a Standalone..

I'm the Same guy reppin the First built SC61 Modded Turbo.. Travis i spoke to you a few times regarding my build.. You lead me to the right direction when you spoke about the VQ Builds.

  • spec v rulez

  • i wanna see a vq spec v vs turbo spec v

  • we did this on i95 driving from florida to north carolina and he pulled on me so hard.

thats a cell phone by the way

  • had vq specv race a turbo specv in any chance cause i wanna see one so i know which one is better..im only running bolts on my car i/h/e/cams/bsr/mmi
