yeah i would stay well clear of cheap chinease import saxophones and aim for a good quality beginner sax from jupiter or something, you could always rent one and see how you get on with the sax
sounds amazing, I want to switch to sax, I have been playing clarinet for 4-5 years, but I feel sax is right for me, any suggestions on switching from clarinet to sax?
@jazzer4real I finally was able to get a (Alto)sax and I got it from my cousin. I cleaned it and everything, but... I started playing it to see how it sounded and if it worked well, but what I found was the lower register does not play too well. I can play the upper register well and it sounds good, but the lower register kind of sounds like it wants to play the upper register, the lower register notes don't want to come out right. I'm not sure what to do, should I bring it in to a music store?
@champlinparkhs , Hey, it's really hard to say for sure without seeing the horn. I would definitely take it into a store with a good repairman that can give you an honest opinion of the horn. Make sure they're not just trying to sell you another horn. And getting lessons with a good teacher is always the way to go. Let me know how it works out for you. Thanks!
@champlinparkhs Yeah man I did the same thing, and believe me sax is super easy if your switching from Clarinet. Just a few pointers, really work on sound quality because its a bit different in terms of blowing. You'll find that your always sharp and a 'pointy' sound so just relax more on the sax then clarinet. Good luck !
nice song, but thats NOT Tom Kennedy on the bass. looks like him a little but doesn't play like him at all, he is good but Tom is on another level, he has alot more groove and feel and Tom is a bit taller.

I think you will find it a relatively easy switch to saxophone. Make sure it's a good instrument.

Tom always plays his signature Fodera Emperor 2 bass.

This was a NAMM show concert, sponsored by a particular company. That's why he was playing a different bass that night.

Glad you like the song. It is Tom Kennedy playing bass. I guess he was slouching that night.
