  • out of curiosity what would this be used for if anything?

  • @woodbr30043 rapid prototyping, for presentations and designing/development

  • oh i see balls bearing . . .

  • Do you reckon the 3D printing could "print" the Impossible Triangle.

  • Comment removed

  • Cool

  • DAMN! i thought this is a skateboard bearings

  • This technology is not that new, researchers have been experimenting with printing actual organs with such a printer of course using organic compounds.

  • can you use it to replace a real bearing (steel bearing)

And how strong it it.(compair it something)

  • What is with all the "what's the point" comments, obviously it's to DEMO the technology of 3D printing, there IS no usable purpose.....

  • 3d printing is the best Can't wait until it becomes more of a standard.

what is the point of the bearings in this video?

  • @Fulacine To demonstrate the technology's abilities.

  • @team222badbrad More specifically, it demonstrates that such a machine can manufacture things that can not be manufactured using conventional technologies. This changes everything.

  • @team222badbrad Can you do steel items?

  • @andromedarr No just ABS plastic.

  • 4:49 those bearings are not fully functional. THEY ARE MISSING BALLS look at those gaps.

  • @windywindy No ball bearings missing just no cage to keep them spaced apart.

  • @team222badbrad Check out what a REAL bearing looks like, they don't have gaps between balls

  • @team222badbrad ahh my bad just re-read the your reply, got it

  • i want a 3d printer soooo bad!!!

  • awesome

  • @xXBOOKxXxXxHEADXx that might BE the point :P

  • You could probably sell these on ebay for $50. I don't know how much it costs to make though.

  • So, what can you do with these bearings ??"

  • Was it really nesesary to go all the way to the work bench just to use the exacto knife?

  • @1977BanditTransAM I like to keep my digits intact... I do THIS everyday so I know what has to be done to do so...

  • Is this guy on meth?

  • @dippydrippyblubber no. meth people act differently.

  • if its so impossible ,then how the fuck did you videotape it and put it on youtube? lol just kidding thats sweet and u should try to incorporate it into a u joint then it would acually have a purpose nice

  • I know about such technology about 10 years. But now it must be much cheaper then that time. It was used to create 3D shapes of automotive parts before they actually went on to production.

  • congratulations, you just made the first impossible bearing...now what?

  • Impossible bearings are just like Congress once you elect to make one they have no practical function

  • I would print a 3D printing machine.

  • nasalman...

  • I have to ask what practical application this could have were it possible.

  • @NeilKalman What machine are you referring to?

  • how does the support material wash away but the bearing stay

  • 2 all the haters out there STFU. this guy is trying 2 make a go of it and going into business for himself. i say well done and good luck 2 u mate. how many of u haters are able to get off youre fucking fat arses and do something for yourselves? prob not many as u r too busy sitting in your mums basement between animal porn sessions criticising people like this who are actually doing something with their talents. i would like 2 get in2 3d printing 4 my business 1 day. is it a big learning curve?

  • he needed a cameraman, but that would require a friend.

  • Press 9 few times to hear him rap!!

  • To become the true master of 3D you will print 'velcro'

  • Awesome

  • this was released on my birthday. just thought you might want to know

  • *sniff*

  • At 1:06 the warning means:

    Warning! Bacon-making in process!

  • I don't understand what the heck just happened. What kind of material is it. What does he mean by "printing"? Is it a spray that builds up to a finished size?

  • So as someone who is obviously familiar with this kind of a machine, how likely do you think it is that technology like this would, at some point in the future, be used in individual households? I just found out about 3d printers and the implications of them both fascniate and terrify me. Our entire marketing system of goods would collapse, but... it's just so cool...

  • maybe a weard question but would it be possible to scale up a 3d printer to a rather lardge size so you would be possible to just print a house whit it that would probably build a lot faster than as we do now

  • damn wish i was smart

  • He doesn't look very pleased with what he's just made.

  • hmmm for best quality watch in high quality?...thank you Einstein!

  • idk why i watched that.

  • Damn, he got a big ass NOGGIN!!!!!

  • Why did you look to the right when you said "impossible"

  • Comment removed

  • nice vdo.. but these bearing are not really useable ....

  • the printer is cheep in price but the fckn ink will cost you

  • I've personally seen the output of these machines. The resolution leaves a lot to be desired- I've seen powder-deposition machines which don't cost nearly as much as these Dimension machines do and they can produce far better detail.

  • @AtlasThePassivist There is a handful of 3D printing/rapid prototyping technologies. Each one has it's advantages and disadvantages. I use FDM technology. There are several "powder based" technologies. I will say that precision isn't everything. Machine cost, material cost, part strength, print speed, material options, etc. One particular powder based technology prints parts fast and accurately, but the parts are very fragile.

  • @team222badbrad But one of the powder prints is accurate and more solid than aluminum as well.

  • @shizumaoo Perhaps, but cost is uber high.

  • @team222badbrad ~ What application might this "pair of bearings "be used for? My imagination is vaporlocked ~ IDEAS?

  • Interesting but pointless. It'snot exactly a bearing since, it can't be used as a bearing.

  • IT is pretty awesome one way or another

  • Comment removed

  • This is amasing O_O

but apart from the 3D printer, where is the trick ? does the printer use two different types of materials, where one of them can be diluted in your liquid so that it can be used as temporary support for the other material ?

This opens sooooo many doors to prototyping !!!

  • Awesome, supprised though nobody has said its FAKE LOL

  • between 4.26 and 4.40 he had time to shave

  • Well, you could use a brush-up on your video editing and presentation, but it's an interesting concept. Is there a use for such things, or are they just toys and curiosities?

I suppose you could make a length of chain with no weak-points, but you'd have to make them out of something like steel to be comparable...

  • so what does that machine thing do

  • That is the impossible bearing. It's the worthless bearing with no practical application.

  • nice coffee machine there mate

  • i made this from paper it was fun and looked just like that

  • That's pretty cool stuff!

  • Not that that bearing is useful for anything... but yep! You made em!

  • awesome job men! nice idea!

  • amazing...sort of like spark erosion? or laser cutting

  • @weldon0m Nope like a hot glue gun mounted on a CNC.

  • @weldon0m ordinay laser cutting could not cut the balls inside the bearing rings. You would need a two laser cutter (that cuts fabric only wherer the two beam join); would take ages. Some 3D printer based on twin beam laser could do it (transparent fluid hardens only where the beam cross each other). But I believe this 3D printer does it for cheaper and faster.

  • Whathe heck is that?

  • hey in 2 hours you shaved your beard

  • whats the point in it???

  • Will this machine make me a Latte?

  • can u make scooters and scooter bearing but nicee vid any way

  • That is so cool

  • that's cool. solid works is a cool program!

  • thats really cool, what is the finished product made of?

  • What's it good for.

  • dude you look foreal uncomfortable infront of a camera but this is some cool shit ive never heard of 3d printing till i saw your videos and its amazing :D

  • That's pretty sweet.

  • how much many did you pay for that awesome machine?!!

  • @Fomelogo its $32,900

  • nice video and production man!

Can you tell me can you tell me if it is possible to make 3D print of .3ds file/model?

    thanks!

  • @smiljanic85 Yes, but they need to be converted to .stl file format.

  • this bearing is useless, but machine is good

  • I don't get the point?? thumbs up if you agree

  • @hasa5x9 the point of #D Printing? well imagin if you had a printer big enough that not only will you not need employees, you won't even need robots that do one job at a time. these printers can make almost anything quick and easy, including home construction

  • All in all, what did this little concept piece cost in the end?

  • Whats it made of?

  • its just a display piece to showcase technology . its otherwise useless object. fun to do and plan, program . STL files? whats your favored cad-cam system . .have you thought of makeing rep-rap parts with that high end rapid prototyper . im old school would rather have a haas mini mill and sl10 oh and a market to sell stuff in where trade policy isnt boinking manufacturers in the b-hind .hey make a rugar 22/45 frame with finger grooves ;-)

  • interesting

  • give your 'ead a wobble!

  • What is the point of the bearing? I get that its impossible to make other than this way, but what is the function? Or was it just because you felt like making it?

  • wow that would have been a waist of time

  • i thought it was to skate haha, but nice work

  • use a welding torch ftw

  • it that bearing made for fun or are there any use for it?

  • @LTF85199 Is´t impossible bearings a vital part of perpetuum mobiles? ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • @davidcrabtree But it was still a very interesting video!

  • @davidcrabtree No actually it just has bawls, but whatever; I didn't design the user interface...

  • Comment removed

  • @davidcrabtree I know. About a million other people have already pointed this out though...

  • You need more confidence. Just relax when you record and with any luck more people can watch. *subs*

  • TOU BOSKIN ALI TOU SIMISTIRAKI EFTAMISI PARAKALWDIO???????????????????

  • what do you do with an impossible bearing?

  • You tell me how you made that machine, and I'll tell you what it's like to be with a woman...

  • @358chevycamaro No thanks that won't be necessary.

  • @team222badbrad I'm so curious. Did you teach yourself how to use that specialized printer machine, or did someone else teach you? And how long did it take for you to learn all the ins & outs?

  • @358chevycamaro You, sir, are an idiot!

  • @358chevycamaro Wow your a douche.

  • @358chevycamaro - Your sister does not count.

  • @358chevycamaro he didnt make it. his woman did.

  • @358chevycamaro Lose,

    @ barbrad, win

  • @evoluchien

    bad* lol

  • @358chevycamaro Wow, douche.

  • @358chevycamaro dude that is very mean u shouldnt say that u know hes a person and he might get more girls than u do k so dnt judge people from the outside and fyi hes a person with a heart that has feelings so if u wana talk bout people talk bout urself first k

  • @358chevycamaro he could just print his own woman

  • @358chevycamaro Jealous that he has brain right ? unlike you... such a obvious overcompensation.

  • @358chevycamaro 358 is TINY. 502 BBC FTW

  • u dont have friends. do u

  • @trixtamario u need 2 stay in skool

  • @trixtamario With a machine like that, who needs friends.

  • 1:10 dancing bacon on plate :D

  • What would a bearing like that even be used for?

  • thats insane

  • ok there is no point in spending that much money on a machine that makes pointless objects!!! am i right or wrong?

  • so um how do you get them undone?

  • what's the point?

  • awesome. I would use it to print guitar picks. I keep losing them.

  • look at the cam. not the display of the cam !!!!!!

  • rich kid

  • What are these for?

  • Not quite impossible to make. But impossible to use! HAHA

  • Have you ever made a chain with it? That would be kind of cool.

  • This is great! What is the material that is "printed"? And the balls were actually printed as well? How can they move freely inside the bearing housings?

    Great Video!

  • that's cool

  • damn man you make the video so akward try to relax a little you have one of the coolest toys.

  • Thats mr coffee and mr radar hahaha

  • i think these are to big for skateboards :D

  • You said it's impossible...So how you made that?

  • Check this for self lubricant sliding bearing:

  • sorry 4 asking but... what does it do O.o

  • i saw this shit like in popular science in like 2003

  • 2:46 "EXACT'O KNIFE"

  • now that you made it. This isn't an impossible bearing now

  • @desmondtheredx I guess I'll have to rename then "Possible Bearings" then...

  • @team222badbrad the name makes reference at that it cant be forged as past methods for making things were just forging then pouring or casting came and make imposible bearings too.

  • @team222badbrad

    improbable bearing?

  • its bacon on a yellow triangle shaped plate.

  • @levicall WOW your good!

  • pretty cool but wat is the point exactly?

  • wat does it do

  • LOL @1:44, design fail? xD

  • @Dr8co1 No it just has a pair of balls that's all...

  • @Dr8co1 xD lol i spotted that too :L

  • @Dr8co1 i was just about to say that: XD

  • i cant beleive i watched the whole thing... i feel lame

  • can i make a toy from that?

  • @crazymonkeyalien A Barbie? Sure!

  • what is the practical application of such a construct?

  • @matto27 Stress Reliever.

  • @matto27 Cheese-grater!

  • how much was the machine?

  • oh, so lemme get this right, the "support part that was printed was a different chemical than the rest of the model, and it dissolves in that chemical bath?? pure genius! it seems so obvious when you think about it!

  • @tipman2000 Yes that's how it works! ;-)

  • Can it print some hair for you?

  • @TheSpike911 No, but I can print a hat or a shampoo bottle because your going to need more than I!
