The Bucs would be stupid to pass up on Berry. I know that the NFL doesn't liek to take Safties super high in the first round and the bucs are headstrong on getting the Pass Rush stronger. Why are people still making the comparison? Berry is better than Mays in in every facet of the game except for maybe hitting and that's just because Mays has around 20lbs. on him. USC sticks Mays in center-field but he's not even that good in coverage. Berry lines up everywhere in the secondary, makes plays in coverage AND against the run. Scouts will fall in love Mays' size and athleticism but Berry is without a doubt the better player.

E.B is 14 yards away from being the all time INT return yards leader, and is better than Mays at every single statistical category there is! Tackles, Tackles for loss, Sacks, INT, INT yards, TDs, Forced fumbles...Mays is great, Berry is the best. He's number 2 on almost all draft boards and number 1 on some. I'm just gonna watch what happens regarding the Combine in Indianapolis and what the crew at NFL Network says. Mayock is upfront and honest about players strengths and weaknesses, & he has no problem calling out players from his alma mater (remember BJ Raji last year?) Plus, I can search more quality clips from Youtube as the year rolls on & go to legitimate web sites that objectively assess Mays & Berry.

It's also interesting that vols112 is whining about him making mistakes earlier in his career and the footage showing that. I saw Mays misread early in the game against Ohio State this past week and the receiver was running past him, but you don't see me overlooking it or downplaying it. Plus, Berry has a lot more opportunities to try and make plays because he doesn't have a majority of his front 7 getting drafted within the first 2-3 rounds, sometimes 2 years in a row to take glory b4 he can.

....What's with showing Berry tackle a guy downfield when the guy is about to bust past him and it's not that violent of a tackle? That's not a highlight to me if I'm a scout for an NFL team. I would start to wonder about the body of work Berry has done, and have to sift through more film to find out if Berry is indecisive at coming up to stop the run on a regular basis.

I just can't bring myself to see him as a better player than Mays out of USC. I've watched footage on both of them, and I think Mays is a better and more violent hitter than Berry. Berry seemed more opportunistic in terms of intercepting passes when the quarterbacks were harassed, but then that's the product of the overall defense playing well together. Mays just takes over a game on his own and demolishes the opponent even when the QB has time to size up the field and throw the ball. And.......

USC is a very good program one of the best in the country. Of course when you have some other big teams around there will be pissing contests to see whose team is the best. It all gets settled on the field. USC is better than there competition in the pac10 by a large margin but if they were say in the SEC they would have a tougher time recruiting because they would not have 1or2 losses every year. I'm not a Vols fan but I STILL can't believe how Malcolm "overrated" Jenkins got the Thorpe Award instead of Berry. Berry has arguably been the best DB in the nation two years straight and he is going into his junior year next year. He can play every position in the secondary. He can cover and hit equally well and when the ball is in his hands, it's almost always a big return. I can't wait till this guy is playing on Sundays.
