  • I never understand why you Americans like cars that look like cruise ships on the outside and your granny's front room on the inside.

  • Why did he park on the lawn?

  • I hate that rear end

  • gang banger nigger car

  • Ewww kill it with fire Front wheel drive with no proper proportions.

  • Best of all....it's a Cadillac!

Yeah, a Cadillac with that piece of crap aluminum 4.1 engine, the engines will soon fail, and the car will depreciate. Oh yeah, the car resembles a cockroach, too.

I had an 85 DeVille, the engine was a POS, I speak from experience.

  • @AlaokDibar yeah, but there are lots of us who see this car today and think wow, what an American Car. May be a POS, but there are certainly ways of keeping it on the road that dont involve buying unAmerican.

  • Who backed it into a wall?

That "bustle-back" styling would look OK on a coupe with a short back and a long hood, but on a four-door sedan it's just retarded.

GM was really going cheap and cynical with their product.

  • @tech9803 I agree it dosen't look right here on the Seville. Now my 81 Imperial coupe has a longer "bustle back" that fits the look

  • Based on Chevy Nova's wheelbase...YEAH GM U SUCK

  • @UFOSPACE1999 The original 1st generation 1975 1/2 - 1979 Seville was based on the Chevy Nova. Not the 2nd generation Seville, which this is.

  • Honestly, this ad wouldn't persuade me to buy a Seville. I like the 80-85 Sevilles a lot, and this ad is just not very good. Thanks for sharing this though. It's nice to know the advertising has improved a great deal since the 80s.

  • 0:13 - does it come with that trophy wife too?

  • cocaine and caddys ya baby

  • the transmission on the 1980-1985 Cadillac Seville

    Transmission

    4-speed automatic

  • Did that polo player park his car on the same field where the match was just held?

  • Gross. No wonder they lost so much prestige.

  • One of Cadillac's most controversial designs. Lots of people love it and consider it a classic; others think it's one of the worst designs ever.

As a kid, I used to love this car. Now I'm not so hot on it. I think it might have looked better as a 2-door.

How many Cadillac owners really played polo? lol

  • i remember my mother had this style like the 1st year it came out. It was so nice i felt like a rich kid riding in the back lol but hers didn't have a 4.1 , i think that came out later

  • The following redesign for 1986 was a complete disaster...Eldorado/Seville/Riviera/Toronado, they all looked the same

  • @liddlebopeep Yeah small and stupid dash boards

  • I don't like the back

  • I love this body style because it's such a blatant, no excuses, attempt at re-creating the Hooper-bodied Rolls Royce and Daimler limos of the past. It's body isn't just a box on wheels.

  • this is when elegance and luxury was at its best

  • estos si eran cadillac chingones no como ahora que cts sts y no se que nananana debiluchos

  • "ideal for equestrian events..."

    &

"Best of all it's a Cadillac"

I own an old caddy and this ad is aspirational rubbish !

  • ugly ass.

  • ever since the Catera, Cadillac = Opal out of Germany

  • Nice car, but unfortunately had the worst engine Cadillac ever produced. The HT4100 aluminum block and cast iron heads V/8 could not even get out of its own way. If it was overheated even once, the block would warp and cylinders would be oval shaped. Absolute junk!!!. The 350 Olds engine was much better in the 1970's Sevilles.......

  • @5litreho For sure!! 4100 was a lousy 4.1L with chrome valve covers to make it look like an engine. They were so weak they would shift down at the mere SIGHT of a slight grade in the highway. Lovely. Just lovely . . .

  • the 1980-1985 Buick Seville was assembled in

    Linden, New Jersey, United States

  • who hoo just managed to pick me up a 1982 seville in Ireland

  • i like the seville elegant that was class they kind of fucked it up in later years long about 1998

  • The guy getting into the car walks like he has severe diarrhea.

  • stunningcar but too bad it took like 22 seconds to get to 60

  • @hialeahdude It's a car to enjoy the ride not to burn the road.

  • @hialeahdude 22 seconds?! thats it! this car does go all out!

  • Nice car.

    But the rear end..

  • Looks like a Garbage Truck with a moonroof

  • Yea, they were junk but very collectible, even in the 90's

  • ugliest caddies ever...my grandfather had one and I puked everytime I saw/had to get into it.

  • Compared to what Cadillac makes now, this car looks like "Citizen Kane".

  • This was my first car, purchased for me, by my dad. . . he wouldn't buy anything he wouldn't drive himself. . . I had the fanciest car in the high school! I wore it out, in college. . . 259,000 miles. I now have a 1984 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible coupe. . . 58,000 original miles. . . only used for summer leisure. The frame used, has the best ride. . . LOVE IT!

  • @jimmythejester72 You have a rare Eldorado. Not many Convertable survived.

  • Ugly....

  • the stagecoach.... niiiice

  • Best Cadillac ever, was always my favourite as a kid growing up in Australia. Finally got one at age 21 and have driven it ever since.

  • this looks like roman bellic's car in GTA 4! i was wonderin why his was the only car i didnt recognize in the game, its because i never saw this thing before. actually looks pretty nice to me.

  • it looks good in 0:12 but ugly everywhere else

  • That lame songlet at the end drove a nail or two into Cadillac's coffin. And do you remember the safe little "Cadillac Style....Cadillac Style...." songlet from a year or two later? And they wondered why American cars were the kiss of death for anyone with any social aspirations?

Of course, nothing can match the lameness of "Geet awn yo Pawn-teh-ackk an' ride." or "Duh haaawt beeee ub Un-meh-riiii-kuuuuuuuuuuh". After that, not even a self-respecting Redneck would be caught dead in a GM..

  • GM design chief Bill Mitchell wanted this Seville to evoke classic designs of the 1930's. The bustleback of the '80 Seville was considered controversial in its day, with some arguing it didn't match the more squarish design upfront. It did however spawn copycats such as the Imperial and Continental. In the end, the overall design was interesting if not a bit awkward from certain angles.

  • the trunk of this car looks soooooo ugly

  • Got this exact car myself. Only 98k on the engine. Running strong. Like driving a couch.

  • I've always loved this style of Seville

  • I love those early 80's Cadillacs. Some of the best styling they ever had.

  • @boss12 ....Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. LOL

  • I could never get used to the "bustlebacks" that these SeVille's had. I think the Chrysler designed a better looking bustleback with their Imperial...

  • The only ood thing about these cars is they used to come with a diesel, but the diesel was a POS. Should have gotten a Mercedes!

  • i hated these cars when i was a kid but now im startin to respect them a buddy of mine has one with 30k orig miles what a car

  • Where are these kind of commercials today?

  • i know right??

  • @F41Driver

"Long gone" are these kinds of commercials---no more class and elegance.Todays Caddy commercials are all herky jerky movements/music geared towards a younger buyer.

  • @pompste That's because, quite honestly, GM NEEDS Cadillac to appeal to younger buyers. Lets face it, the people who bought that Seville 25 years ago are probably now no longer driving, or worse. Had Cadillac continued to make their cars and commercials to appeal to that crowd they'd have an empty audience in a few years.

  • awsome thanks i love these
