To deny that racism (consciously or subconsciously) plays a role in our apathy toward these peoples is naivety at best. You don't have to look past Katrina to know this. How can an adminstration champion a psuedo-democracy but turn a blind eye toward the right to live. According to our law, this administration serves as accomplices to the death of millions of Africans.

watching this video, it hurts my heart that our lack of presence in Darfur in preventing an entire people's from falling six feet into the earth due to our unnecessary involvement in the War in Iraq. People see this sh*t, say it's bad, and then go about their lives as if this is a given reality! I gaurantee that if this were occuring in W. Europe, all kinds of military and economic aid would be provided in a split second.

i really feel for these people but i also feel for the people in Iraq which i guess you care nothing for when they where being killed by Sadam by the millions. Sure their still dying but at least they have the chance at freedom

It doesn't take a prophet to know that you can't successfully realize a democracy in a land where religious tension and conflict have persisted for 2000 years. Even Bush the elder knew this! He knew there was NO exit strategy. Sadaam could have easily been contained until his death. THERE IS NO CHANCE AT FREEDOM FOR THEM BECAUSE OF THE CONTEXT!

What the hell?! What is the difference in the Sudan or any other place the US is involved? You admit that Iraqi people were dying BEFORE the US entered but somehow bypass this and continue with contradiction. You don't think more Sudanese will die if the US goes there? I guess since bloggers werent there to tell you bosnia was wrong you think its ok the US went there right?
