Arnel is a good singer, obviously However, this is Journey. To me, Journey=Steve Perry and HIS vioice. Steve's voice has ridiculous range. One of the things I respect most about his talent. To me Arnel doesn't have that range. Making Arnel their front man means only one thing. Journey KNOWS what Steve meant to their sound. Seems to me egos will prevent us from ever seeing Journey with Steve Perry. Arnel, you have wonderful talent. However, you'll never fill Steve Perry's shoes.

It was a good move of course but quite a leap from the first three albums. I still think Arnel is a good singer... he's better on the Zoology record than the Revalations one but that was ok too.

Arnel is a good singer, obviously However, this is Journey. To me, Journey=Steve Perry and HIS vioice. Steve's voice has ridiculous range. One of the things I respect most about his talent. To me Arnel doesn't have that range. Making Arnel their front man means only one thing. Journey KNOWS what Steve meant to their sound. Seems to me egos will prevent us from ever seeing Journey with Steve Perry. Arnel, you have wonderful talent. However, you'll never fill Steve Perry's shoes.

Steve is the first and is a good singer but what can you do to someone who left the band?? Journey is a group of musicians who love their music. Too bad for Steve for leaving and Arnel is up to continue the Journey. He is not trying to replace Steve, he is just making his own name as Arnel. @NoSteveNoJourney - Cain did augment a new sound but Schon has hinted that he didn't like the change to mainstream rock at all when he said, "There are things I still don't like about it but I gotta pay the bills." It was a good move of course but quite a leap from the first three albums. I still think Arnel is a good singer... he's better on the Zoology record than the Revalations one but that was ok too.

@NoSteveNoJourney - It's a winning formula though. Journey $56MIL on their two tours with Pineda and they have a huge new fan base to replace the rapidly dwindling old one. People can argue about Arnel not being as good as Perry (I like Soto better then Pineda or especially Augeri) but it was a very smart business decision To go the direction they did.
