I sometimes confuse Masako for Asako since both are Japanese Odissi dancers. I love it when a person who is from another Asian country becomes an icon in Odissi dance. Masako and Asako are among the few famous non-Indian Odissi dancers. Have they ever worked together?
PHEW!!! Oh my Lord! I was sooooo scared that the other comment was true and that Masako had died overnight or something!!! THANK GOD that dentpozey was referring to someone else and not our dear friend Masako here. Masako...you're amazing! ^o^
Masako is absolute loss the beautiful art of odissi dance. She lost her battle with cancer. You are immortalized among the great odissi dancers and in our hearts Masako.

Masakos steps are very clean, never stops half way but she follows through her entire movement. Precise, I think is the word!

She can dance really beautifully. It is like the movement of an apsara enticing a hermit to break out of his intense concentration.

Yes, Ms. Asako was not only a beautiful dancer but also a beatiful human being...
In this video, the featured dancer is Masako Ono and not Ms. Asako.
