  • I have been listening to these versions (the others posted by fyb) for many years...the original deutche grammophon vinyl lp is also available on cd i believe... ilisten to a very faithful cassette

i recorded on TD super avilyn in the car ...my old dual 1019 does the trick for the lp..like brendel as well but kempff is trumps

  • amazing how clear the melodic line is

  • Toute en retenue, légèreté : c'est aérien

  • I love you Kempff. Ohh and Horowitz is pretty good at this one too!

  • @EricTheRed03

Take a look at the Cherkassky performance I've posted couple of days back, video recording of his concert in Japan, playing all the four impromptus, D.899. Wonderful performance as well.

    Cheers!

  • For a 1965 Recording, isnt the audio very clear? I doubt it sounds that old. :/ Very well played though. I mean if its kempf it has to be. But the sound quality says other wise.

  • @sriyash260 It sounds like a magnetic record to me.

  • @sriyash260

It is definitely a Wilhelm Kempff recording. Sound quality in the 60's was in many respects as good/better than today. Decca sound anyone ?

  • one of my all time favorites. first heard it played by a family friend who came over to visit my father back in 83' he made our old neglected upright piano come alive with his classical music training. his name was Highcee. (high'C). he came from a musical family and was (to me) flawless in his skill and emotions on the piano. Schbert,Chopin and liszt was what he played. my mother payed a great deal to have the action bar rebuilt and the piano retuned so that he could play whenever he came over

  • Très beau, j'aime l'interprétation. Pas précipitée sans être trop lente et molle.

  • wilhelm kempff was a master of phrasing and of the cantabile.the melodious sound of his piano playing seems everlasting and doesnt come to an end.

    b e a u t i f u l !!

  • I live this peace! Thanks for it!
