I used a form of birth control but it didn't work. I never wanted to get pregnant, but I did so I wanted to take responsibility for it and raise her. I chose the "good guy" who was always there and always a sweet boyfriend but didn't support me when his parents disapproved. So I am alone, but I am doing my best. I read books about discipline and parenting because I care about my job. I do think I made the wrong choice but I think that my life isn't over just because I have a child.

Videos like this are a bit disheartening to me. I am about to be a single mother myself, not by a thug, but by someone that I grew apart from. We still have a relationship, but not an intimate one. A lot of videos I find are almost like telling me I have a 'death' sentence because I am labeled as 'stupid' and 'ignorant'. I think it's stupid to stay in a relationship that isn't working for the sake of a child. I feel like people will look at me and assume that I am like the women you describe.

I used a form of birth control but it didn't work. I never wanted to get pregnant, but I did so I wanted to take responsibility for it and raise her. I chose the "good guy" who was always there and always a sweet boyfriend but didn't support me when his parents disapproved. So I am alone, but I am doing my best. I read books about discipline and parenting because I care about my job. I do think I made the wrong choice but I think that my life isn't over just because I have a child.

Videos like this are a bit disheartening to me. I am about to be a single mother myself, not by a thug, but by someone that I grew apart from. We still have a relationship, but not an intimate one. A lot of videos I find are almost like telling me I have a 'death' sentence because I am labeled as 'stupid' and 'ignorant'. I think it's stupid to stay in a relationship that isn't working for the sake of a child. I feel like people will look at me and assume that I am like the women you describe.

The reason why, is because I am black. I happen to be well educated, intelligent and I stand on my own two feet. I have only had two (very, long-term) partners in my life and I am 25 years old. Hardly one of the 'whores' you or everyone talks about. You all need to understand that each woman's situation is different. This whole stereotyping is full of loopholes and you might miss yourself a good woman based on your prejudgments.

She has complete support of both extended families, all aunts, uncles, grandparents, friends and even co-workers. He and I are so lucky to have such a support system, and so much love coming from both sides. She will not have a need not taken care of. This is not selfish, this is love. Oh, and a side note. We have been best friends for nearly seven years, which is more than most couples can say. I am happy to be raising a child in a healthy environment where her parents still care and love each other. At the end of the day the woman is ultimately responsible for her own body and what happens to it. There is no difference between catching V.D.(HIV) and catching a sperm. Unless she was raped she is always at fault for getting pregnant. The same as anyone would be responsible for themselves getting V.D.The woman makes the final choice to protect her body or not.
