I saw George early in is career before he went big. A club in Marshfield, MA back in the early to mid 70's. George was actually playing back up for a local favorite named Johnny Barnes. Wild weather outside held the crowd to a whopping 50 people at best. Good time to see a rock legend.
@ TheMrconcreteman LOL I notice .. your speaking of your friend opening for George in PAST tense.. I'd fire him too. But yeah...He should have just fired him instead of commenting.he and the group are some of the best!!
I've been a fan of George Thorogood for 3 decades and always look forward when he is playing in town. My IPod is Loaded with his stuff, nothing better to run with. Thanks George!
The answer is easy. I sold 38 years a lot of records to people - like me - who can't read notes, don't know a chord and can't judge real harmonies. They and I listen to some records who touches your soul. No matter how good or bad the artist or the music really is.
saw gt and the destroyers in '78 at the bijou cafe and he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. on a side note, remember the feral boy in the road warrior? i swear, that kid looked like geo to a tee. hahaha
MY BUDDY TRAVIS WAS A DRUMMER WHO OPENED FOR THOROGOOD IN EUROPE...HE WAS ALWAYS GETTIN HIGH, THOROGOOD WALKED UP TO HIM AND SAID HE WAS TRIED OF WATCHING HIM GET STONED, TRAVIS TOLD THOROGOOD TO FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUCK OFF.......
The guitar is slightly out of tune here-that doesn't help matters much !!! However, this sounds just like George did on the "Move It On Over" record. I still think that that record is George's best album overall
I've always wondered, of course not there missing, but I think a piano in the band would've made it sound even better. I think they should have added a piano first before they considered a saxophone.
The best dam George vid I have seen yet! Raw, upclose, no fancy big band and stage bullshit, just the band wailin'....right on, man, far out. Straight to favs.
Wow! Thank you for this! Is there anymore? What a hot ticket!!!Thorogood has ALWAYS been!!! One in Millions, for sure! He just Rocks! the Destroyers, too....Much love...

Why this guy was ever considered a blues artist mystifies me. Can't play, can't sing, can't write. A real triple threat.

And then Stevie Ray Vaughn showed up and ruined George Thorogood's pretend blues guitar playing career.
Oh and he can't sing.

@TruthAxe So how'd that all work out for Stevie Ray???

@TheMrconcreteman Good idea telling Thorogood to fuck off.
What an idiot. How Travis's career, fame and life going compared to Thorogood's? Can you link us to some awesome stuff of his here on YouTube?

Saw George in 81. He opened for the Rolling Stones. He sounded better and was more entertaining than the stones.

@7Seektruth - I immediatly understand what you said !! George could be in the Stones, but only until 1970 :-))

Always loved this band make-up ... guitar, drums, bass, period. The addition of the saxophone to the group was a bad idea.

@hbg143 Love how they kept it simple in the early days..no flash or fancy clothes, just rock. Awsome.
