Some singers just lose it after a couple performances dude. It doesn't matter if one performance is a bit shady. Its what you put into the music that counts. Take Corey Taylor for instance. He gets winded quite easily, but no one gets mad because they know hes giving it his all.

Yo, trevallica- Ever see a Dream Theater DVD? They are amazing live. I have seen the ATR DVD. I was dissapointed. Touring is just another "hardship" that comes along with being in a band, but if you can't play- you can't play. I don't understand why everyone gives their singer so much slack. I love ATR, but I'm sorry... The guy sucks. There are things the studio can do that you can't do on your own, and people should realize that before buying a ATR ticket. Hell, I wouldn't see

I love ATR, but I'm sorry... The guy sucks. There are things the studio can do that you can't do on your own, and people should realize that before buying a ATR ticket. Hell, I wouldn't see
them.

oh! and toured with 36 crazyfists :)....they were pretty sweet too. could've showed a little more support though here in texas though!...but oh well, i love 36. been a fan since bitterness the star.

man, i didn't even get a chance to see ATR when they came down to houston, tx touring with in flames and gojira. phil blew his voice out supposedly...this song and 'overcome' would've been awesome live!! the guitar work, drums, vocals on the album is fuckin' kick ass!!

its hard to scream and sing at the same time. try it for yourself. at the same time though, try singing and screaming through 8 songs non stop, and try to look good for the fans. I just can't think of how much vocal damage screamers will aqcuire after singing for such a long time

Things to remember:
1. this was one of the first few live shows they played in over 4 months; his voice was not in proper shape.
2. His voice sounds like he stressed it too much previously, as would be expected if you hadn't been on the road in 4 months.
3. His vocals were FAR too over-layered on the new album; his real singing voice does not sound like that.
4. Listen to Whispers (I Hear You), the man can sing very well.

he definitely CAN sing, but remember bro, he is probably exhausted! its very hard to sign when exhausted, but its quite easy to scream...so remember...he can sing, but here he does a little off only bcuz he is probably EXHAUSTED (he is even sweating badly)

the guitars sound great, the vocals suck balls. I missed them play down the street from my house a few months ago and I was super disappointed. Now, not so much. I sing better than this in my car.
