:) Olette loistavia!
This one was funny to me because it was so lo-brow and portrayed typical finnish stupidity. I enjoyed the camp-factor of it very much, it's really not that funny in a sense of what's funny-funny - but that itself is hilarious.
The Markku character is very accessible for anyone outside Finland who has a good grasp of irony, or a basic knowledge of Finnish stereotypes (even if you can't understand Finnish). I'm sure he would do quite well in Britain, he's along the lines of Ali G or Borat, very fresh humour indeed. I would've loved to have seen his talk show appearance, I wish they would upload that!.
Thanks for the extra information. Yes you're right, I had trouble with Murkkuiän sudenkuoppia, I couldn't understand it at all unfortunately. I thought they were on TV in Finland because their sketches are so well done. :)
Not on TV, should be, Markku's been on a finnish talk-show on the telly and in Radio Free Finland (a netradio done by an american living in Finland). I'd think that the people that are in charge of what get put on TV is too old for this sort of humour. A bit too "inside" and "stoner" maybe.
Also, anyone know the name of the bloke who plays "Markku" in the Eurovision 2007 sketches?..(he's on the phone in this one). I think he's extremely talented, they all are but that character is bloody genius.
I wish I could understand this better, I do a little..how about a brief English description for us ignorant unfortunates who can only master the one language? :(
A typical finnish bachelor party where the idea is to humiliate the groom to be in some stupid way.
This obviously comments on how all of the finnish bachelor party ideas are made up drunk, after having an argument in the sauna about finnish sports, after which everyone beats up their significant other. This is the time the time for best finnish ideas.
They sure brought it on him! He's going to remember that day the rest of his life!
Thank you, that sounds dangerously close to a Brittish stag party..usually a couple of arrests, a fight or two, someone being chained naked to a lamppost and the obligatory vomiting of the trousers....
I like this group, I can understand 80% of their stuff. I wish the purely Finnish sketches were subtitled (not that they shuld have to be of course), but just so more people could enjoy them.
eee helevetti kerranki meni nappiin :D täydet pisteet äijät!

He's also the "Kiinni jäin." -dude, from "Murkkuiän sudenkuoppia" but that skit is probably lost to non-finnish people.
Infekto, seen in the very few frames of this one is afaik a(n) (in)famous Tamperean DJ, but I don't know (or know of) any of the other guys.
In any luggage, all of Ruttoryhmä is the ish.
