Unless you're getting your power entirely from something like a windmill or waterwheel, you share responsibility for pollution created in the production of electricity. Don't like it? Shut your computer off!
@codyboy1996 you do realize that nuclear power plants give off no pollution... they do not create any green house gases. The only thing they emit is an extremely small amount of nuclear waste which is disposed of safely. The smoke that comes out of the cooling towers is only pure steam, no pollutants. And these facilities are very safe as they have concrete walls surrounding the reactors that prevent nuclear leaks and several fail safe systems.
@scottydog137 They're not infallible, but they're incredibly safe. Fukushima would have been fine had there been no earthquake. And in the US, no one has died from nuclear power. (Over 300 people have died from wind turbines (e.g., falling off towers), though.)
@XD1243 I think you'll find he's right. This plant has been a well known polluter in the past. The Irish sea polluted from various leaks over the years. They changed the name to try and leave all that bad history behind.
50 Megawatts... Isn't that ridiculous to let an nuclear reactor run critical for a lousy 50 Megawatts?! When you consider how old this plant was, and how dangerous (compare Sellafield!) Hell, I can produce 50 Megawatts with a windmill in my Backyard!!!
wheres that, "hoo haa" mentality that brought mankind to the surfaces of the moon? It seams like it has been replace with the defeatist mentality!
why do we have to bury it?!
we can simply sink the caskets, at the points of the oceans where the crustal subduction zones are! Doing so,the the waste will be absorbed over time into the earth it's self!
@captinseperoth ,Because of water-erosion, the waste containers leaked in the Baltic sea after 10 years making it and all within radioactive in those areas and spreading.
can anyone find the video with the power plants with the cute faces

who else is looking for nuclear plants with faces?

@mrKickass808 impratical
you can take all of the land,of a small state to power a city like NYC,vs a small atomic power plant.
and solar is HIGHLY UNRELIABLE.
also, atomic power-plants is completely safe. and no one has died from atomic energy,that was generated through responsible means.
Chernobyl was a fucking joke of the way they built the facilities and the staff they hired to run it.
and you can get more radiation from the dentist then what was leaked from "3 miles"
captinseperoth 1 year ago
Britain is smarter than we are getting rid of these things which is like a real trojan horse in a long run.
We need to find a safe way to create power and not bury radioactive "Pandora's boxes" inside our earth. Leaks will eventually occur.

or better yet, fast breeder reactors!

Why add more fuel to the fire?
No nukes.
PantheraAtrox 1 year ago
@PantheraAtrox
im talking about in the middle of the oceans, at very deep depths.
or how about replacing all of 30-40 year old atomic facilites in america ,with plants that consume waste as fuel....?
sooner or later you will need to replace those facilities,why not with more efficient and safer facilities on the same land?
don't ever replace those old facilitates with coal plants that produce radioactive fly ash!
captinseperoth 1 year ago
@captinseperoth, Agree regarding coal plants, not a good thing.
But why not go solar instead?
PantheraAtrox 1 year ago
@PantheraAtrox unreliable
and atomic energy is extremely safe these days.
the waste that we bury has still 70-80 percent of it's potential energy still left,that we could reprocesses and use up again.
yet it's cheaper at the moment to just use new fuel,rather reprocessing.
also look up breeder reactors, and thorium.
captinseperoth 1 year ago
This is sad
ethanswish123 2 years ago
We should do that to ours in America when the 4th Generation Plants come out so we can have cleaner energy with less radiation as a byproduct.
