Alright, I thought this was pretty good, but I don't think it was really traditional Kinetic Typography. I don't know what it was, just something about it. Enjoyed it very much though, and definitely a thumbs up.
Very nice! I've only done this once and know how time consuming it can be. I really like your clock tower and the time... clever! My favorite is definitely the rewind.
Don't mean to be a jerk or anything, but I thought this was incredible except for a slight misspelling of "harness." It was spelled with only one S. Aside from that, this is awesome. Very well done. I can't believe that was only your second project.
Not bad, but i think you got a few words wrong, I think you spelt harness wrong and some of the words didn't fit into the screen. A bit more colour wud hav been good too. I really liked that bit when you rewound the words back and made them come back the same way during the part when Marty rewinds the tape, THAT WAS BRILLIANT dont get me wrong.
Xerock, architechgirl4..., and darken27 have NO Kinetic Typography (KT) videos on their channels...so I'm curious why are they so critical of this work. FUnakedbluejean has two KT videos, and "seemed" to the most helpful with the exception of the age reference, which was just silly. Age means nothing. How old was King Tut when he became King of Egypt? How was Mozart when he wrote first piece? I've never done KT yet, so this was a worthwhile effort, given the amount of dialog he had to work with.
Indeed, given that most KT videos are only 30 seconds at best. You can cut this person slack for creating something that runs for neatly three minuets.
@EBTL0947 so you're saying the only way you can criticize something is if you do it yourself? so movie critics might as well quit their job or make a movie first? or any other critic for that matter? yea, that makes sense. loser
Actually, I have heard that when Doc Brown said "jiggawatt", it was correct at the time. At the time, people were arguing over the pronounciation of the word "gigawatt". I don't know how true this is or not, but to me it makes sense. Up until recently we didn't have the technology to worry about the pronounciation of crazy high numbers...
@spikeyizzy Great scene and I liked all the different letter angles 2:40 looked really cool, but some of them made for scattered reading, but you still get the impression. Some parts are really impossible to read with backwards letters and mixed order, but if your just going for the pop up and shape effect, it works. I loved the rewind bit at the start. Keep up the good work.
THis is great. But you should have used the Back to the Future logo at the end.

it'd be nice if the words were actually on the screen

Gigawatt, by the way. Slightly different from Gigowatt, that sounds rather like gigolo.

@notchjohnson1 Some of the best critics are people who formerly did what they're reviewing.

I dont know how old you are or what your background is, so I wont be too critical. But the font choice and placement needs work.
fuckyounakedbluejean 2 years ago
Yeah, like everyone else is saying, you really should have run this through a spell-checker. Or perhaps let a friend read over the rough draft...
Other than that, this was well done. :)
darken27 2 years ago
1. A lot of haphazardly placed text without rhyme or reason.
2. You could have used onomatopoeia for the static instead of a picture of static.
3. The spelling errors have already been mentioned

isnt that gigawatt? or is it uniquely used for this movie? i only knew gigawatt until now.

he pronounced it "jiggawatt" in the movie, but yeah, probably spelled "gigawatt" It made him sound more loony I guess?
