  • The meeting with Kantorek is totally different from the book and an invention of the director. In the book, Kantorek is made a territorial and they have him to recruit training duty and laughing their butts off at him. LOL

  • The "home visit" is way out of order from the book! It's interesting to see how they slipped it in...

  • 06:11 The professor, who's been behind the lines all this time tells the soldier "You don't know anything about it"

    Did I hear correctly?

  • it doesnt matter, i served and would do it agian then be a slimmy civilian that i am now. thats all.

  • Poor Crop...

  • USA commercials & school propaganda show like its awesome to be a soldier & fight in the war, but when your in there & everybody you see is the enemy. you dont know who has the bombs to blow up in your face, killing plundering raping destroying mutilating, you dont know how it feels to kill a chicken untill you step on one & hear it squeel & the sounds of pain & anguish, a real human bieng hearing would feel more pain the chicken!, to kill something you must kill part of you self!▐▐▐

  • @Czaendermajer

You should stfu. You are a moron.

  • @Czaendermajer

    You're not a soldier I see

  • @Mengha i have a warrior spirit, infact 90% of what i think about is either multi use heavy duty or something that can be used to fight [best being multy use] this is why i understand this more easy than many people, and why empty words like "im gonna fuckin rip that guys head off" [reffering to just schold argue with someone else he doesnt like] speeking way makes me uncomfortable!▐▐▐

  • @Mengha note* he said "warrior spirit" not that he is infact a warrior

  • just as relevant today!

  • voice and actions are off but great movie!

  • Amazing actors

    This movie is essential

    Thank you for sharing it

  • The woman playing Paul's mother also played James Cagney's mother in the classic gangster film "The Public Enemy".

  • DOES PAUL SURVIVE THE WAR

  • i read the book and (i may be wrong) it says at the end that he died

  • I read an English version of the book back in the early 80s. The last page says that the Paul character dies in October, 1918 on a day that was so inactive it was officially listed as "All Quiet on the Western Front"- kind of paralleling the death of his friend in the air attack. Death had become so mundane that it did not even interrupt the doctors' card game.

  • yep thats paul, hes the mai character, and the book "All Quiet on the Western Front" was written by him. His Christian name was Paul, german/normal name was Erich Maria Remarque.

  • i'm pretty sure thats paul, the main character.

  • oh thanx.

  • @1iquid777 you are correct, that is Lou Ayers who played Paul Baumer

  • what was that character's name? the one that just came home.
