Plain paper has been died so it is slightly poisones and other card/paper part from that theres some great ideas :D

@cutehammies hey i need your help ! i have 2 hamsters but i dont know ! one of them keeps biting the cage and the other one keeps siting down and done move ! and one of her eyes is closed .... i am covering the cage with a cover so the dont get cold but it dont allow the light to enter the cage so what times i shall enter loght and what time i dont ? thank you

I have always given my hamsters things like plain white paper & toilet tubes to chew on. I have found that they never actually eat the paper / cardboard, but tend chew it up and either leave bits on the floor or take them to their nest. Most people I know also give their hamsters these. However if you are in doubt for your pet or feel unhappy with it in any way, then dont give it to them :)

@cutehammies Oh yes, that would make sense! Whenever I introduce a new bedding which is like shredded paper, they never really try to eat it and just stuff it to use in their beds. I'll definitely try those cracker things with my next hamster, and of course if I notice them eating I won't give them it. Thanks for the ideas! :)

@PersilBunnies Yes I thought that too so I didn't give them it for ages! Hay's one of those things each owner has to decide for themselves whether or not to give. I researched it quite abit (cont) . . . .

@PersilBunnies (cont) . . . Hay meant for farm animals etc can carry mites & also could carry fungus if its been damp & hasn't been stored properly. I only use Small Animal hay from a pet shop (not farm hay stored in a barn etc) and keep it inside so it doesn't get damp. I check mine and remove any bits I think could be sharp, using only the softest hay, just a bit at a time. Mine don't tend to eat it, sometimes nibble it but tend to just play in it and use it for burrows xox
