we tried that, it was called the 10 articles of confederation, where all the colonies lived independently and congress had absolutly no power. they couldnt tax, couldnt get the colonies to work with each other, and couldnt enforce jack shit. the colonies made agreements with other governments and countries.

we need to be a large country guided by a large central government so that we have the infrastructure to make advances in technology and society to further increase the growth of the human race.
Europe is no longer a threat, but there are so many other countries that would just LOVE to see us dead.
smaller states just means more countries with diverse opinions, but without something to join them, there would be increased tensions amongst these smaller countries

America don't need to be imperialistic in technology, and the "human race" is not dependent on it. Nor do america need to be imperialistic in geopolitcs. Your time will come eventually, I don't think it's something to be feared.
Sure other countrys would see you dead, but that could be said for the British and their imperial downfall. Not sure what senario you can put forth to resemble your fear context.

Tension is naturally something which may happend and can not be exluded, but increase in (more local) democratic values are worth "fighting" for.
I said the democracys in countrys like USA (& UK) doesn't work, & are completly out of touch when just 50%+ use their vote. These governments are also not afraid to go and do exactly what they want: The UK population were against the war, jet they went to war. USA only have capitalism for small industry, socialism for larger corporations

but it is the people in charge of the this country who coordinated 9-11 and ultimately led us to going full head of steam into two wars...no real thorough investigation was done. No two 110 story steel towers could fall to the ground in an hour from a fire without the assistance of explosives in the those towers. Don't forget about building 7 which was instructed to be "pulled" by owner Larry Silverstein...no mention of that building at all in the 9-11 commission report. We don't belong there

the trade centers could not have toppled due to a fire, this is true.
but you throw in a fire that was caused by igniting fuel splashing onto steel girders from a large passenger airline (larger than what the building was built to withstand) whos explosion compromised the structural integrity of the whole building, and the fires from said explosion blasted through the elevator shaft down to the lobby.
the fires didnt burn hot enough to melt the girders, but hot enough to make them unstable.

@EMETisTRUTH you're correct, you need 2800F to melt steel, but that's not what is implied in what really happened.
no one is saying the steel ever melted, but temperature rose far enough to greatly weaken the structural integrity of the steel beams.
in multiple videos of 9/11, you can see the walls of the trade centers begin to bend inward, the steal was starting to buckle under the immense weight that it could no longer support due to the heat weakening it.
