i disagree, dazed and confused or achilles last stand is better. thier entire first album is better.but it still is a good song. hell, everthing from led zeppelin is legendary.
megadeth inspired me to pick up the guitar led zepplin and the beatles expand my horizon on all levels, both bands play a wide variety of styles just zepplin rocks harder!
zeppelin fans of youtube i want to know what do u think is the most underated led zeppelin song of all time! leave me a comment stating what song it is on my profile
I know Page's (and the rest of the band as well) had influences from all types of music. You can hear traces of different styles in one song. I wouldn't say country western in this song but I can hear why you'd say that. Maybe their is a trace of it since they were so diverse. But yeah. I'd say mainly blues and funk.
I totally agree & it mostly started downhill from the early 80's..the 70's were powerful, because it was mostly a product of spillover from all the great 60's music..just think about it, zep, creedence, elton, doobies, steely dan, csn&y,
badfinger,hollies,who,guess who,bto,allman bros.skynrd,boston,styx,supertramp,eagles,linda ronstadt,van halen(started),stones,all folk rock,dave mason,joe walsh,focus,procol harum,all midnight special acts,soul acts,marvin gaye,j-5,& many more too num to list..
you are so right - those you named can never be topped or duplicated by today's generation of 20-somethings - they have no creativity in music or lyrics - i am 38, so i lived on the tail-end of led zep and those others who are so awesome - too bad this generation has no clue or appreciation for these artists -
yeah its not all their fault, its the suits who have made music sterile, they are not willing to take a chance on many acts, but its also the times -we were lucky, i do like a few 90's acts, the verve are cool, but like you said, those acts will never be topped, look at all the great tunes say a band like CCR did, in 1971 they had 5 top 10 hits at once.
amazing, we all took it a bit for granted because we didn't know any better, & because of the sheer quantity/ quality of the bands.
on the contrary I am 20 years old and I have a very deep appreciation for the music of the 60's and 70's it's my favorite generation of music, he forgot about zappa he started in the early 60's around the end of 65 and 66 and freak out! changed the scene at least for me nowadays and I have a feeling it was pretty groundbreaking back then as well.
glad to hear that there are twenty-somethings who can appreciate it - and yeah, i agree, the 60s and 70s artists produced great songs - but of course, being a teenager all through the 80s, i love that period as well - thanks for the comment
i happen to be 14 also. and most of my friends are into the whole 60s-70s era. but, i have a real wide variety of music. im like, have metalhead, half hippie. and every now and again ill listen to a modern band, like the white stripes. so, just goes to show, music is good no matter what time period. as long as its done well. the 60s and 70s just happened to be one of the best eras where people were trying new things =D
14 was the age I started to get into Led Zeppelin. Now I'm 29 and I like them more than ever. Especially their live stuff because they improvised, experimented, and most songs are never played the same way.
