SINCE YOU DID THIS TRANSLATION WHICH YOU ATE LOTCHA WORDS,CAN YOU MAKE IT MORE RIGHT BY STADING WHILE SINGING WHAT YAH CALLED TRANSLATION OF THIS PHILIPPINE NATIONAL ANTHEM??PLEASE??
Ang pinaka unang version ay Castillan, then english, then filipino
The English version of the Philippine anthem was the version used when our country was a commonwealth and after the American liberation from Japanese occupation in our country on Oct. 1944. And even then, our independence day before was July 4th. But, when Pres. Marcos came, he changed the english version to tagalog and independence day from July 4th to June 12th now. And even now the military's command is tagalog language version.
Di ba ito yung anthem when we were a commonwealth with the US? Oo nga freshlowers4u2, ur right alam din to ng Lolo ko. I remember him singing it when I was a child.

wow the guys below me doesn't know what their talking about so what if the title is chosen land is it supposed to be in the lyrics wich is correct oh maybe your thinking about the tagalog version that has the title in the lyrics???

The Philippine Hymn, was officially adopted by the Commonwealth government in 1934. An entire pre-war generation of Filipinos grew up singing their national anthem in English.
Hey onetruejuan... If you read our histroy carefully...
The words of Palma's poem and Felipe's music were put together. The national anthem now had Spanish lyrics. During the American regime, the singing of the national anthem was discouraged. After the lifting of the Philippine flag prohibition, the national anthem was translated from Spanish into English by Camilo Osias, a Filipino writer, and A. L. Lane, an American.
Malaking kasalanan ito. Pilipinas ang ating bansa - dapat ang pambansang awit natin ay kinakanta sa wikang ating ginagamit sa pang-araw-araw. Hindi naman English ang ating first languag, eh
woh... lol you need to chill the fuck out! there just singing the anthem i dont think there intention is to anything but sing it in english... re-fuckin-lax...
"Land of the morning. child of the sun returning, with fervour burning, thee do our souls adore. Land dear and holy, cradle of noble heroes, ne'er shall invaders, trample thy scared shore.
"Even within the skies, and through the clouds and o'er thy hills and seas. do we behold the radiance feel the throb of glorious liberty. thy banner, dear to all out hearts its sun and stars alight, o never shall its shinning field be dimmed by tyrant's might!
"Beutiful land of love, o land of light, in the thine embrace tis rapture to lie, but it is glory ever, when thou art wronged, for us, thy sons, to suffer and die
What I wrote is the actual translation... The words that the guy is singing is NOT the actual translation from Tagalog. I think the song when sung in Tagalog is more moving, emotional and beautiful.
This translation was made by Senator Camilo Osias and Mary A. Lane. On December 5, 1938, the Philippine Congress passed Commonwealth Act 382, which made the anthem's English words official. The country was then a Commonwealth of the United States. GO TO WIKIPEDIA FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Filipinos are the only people in the world who doesn't like history and have no idea about their history. Quoted from the British, Scottish, Americans, Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, Germands, Etc. Etc. Etc.
Manuel Quezon only chose Tagalog as the national language in order to win the elections. Emilio Aguinaldo, Artemio Ricarte, Apolinario Mabini and all our heroes chose Spanish as the official language upon independence!

good job guys. where did you guys find this english version? i knew it long time ago that we had this rare english verses but never had a chance to hear it.
there is no such thing as filipino language. it's just tagalog. now, the philippines is a failure in nation building because of tagalog! a lot of filipinos do not feel that they belong in this nation because of this double-standard we call tagalog, masquerading as filipino. Gets?

Lupa ng araw ng luwalhati't pagsinta (Land of the sun, happiness and love)
Buhay ay langit sa piling mo (Life is heaven in your company)
Aming ligaya na pag may mang-aapi
Ang mamatay ng dahil sa iyo (It is our joy and pleasure whenever tyrants reign, that we shall die for you)
40510110 3 years ago
Sa dagat at bundok (From the seas to the mountains)
Sa simoy at sa langit mong bughaw (To the air and the heavens)
May dilag ang tula at awit sa paglayang minamahal (Songs and poems show our love for freedom)
Ang kislap ng watawat mo'y tagumpay na nagniningning (The radiance of your flag is the sight of victory shining brightly)
Ang bituin at araw niya (her sun and her stars)
Kailan pa ma'y di magdidilim (shall never fade)
40510110 3 years ago
The translation is NOT the actual literal translation of the song... I will translate the actual song in portions.
Bayang Magiliw (Land of esteem)
Perlas ng silanganan (Pear of the orient)
Alab ng puso (The ardor in your heart)
Sa dibdib mo'y buhay (is alive in your chest)
Lupang hinirang (Land that I love)
Duyan ka ng magiting (Cradle of the brave)
Sa manlulupig (To tyrants)
Di ka pasisiil (We shall never back down)
40510110 3 years ago
ITS MORE LIKE:
Beloved country,
Pearl of the Orient,
The heart's fervor,
In your chest is ever alive.
Chosen land,
You are the cradle of the brave.
To the conquerors,
You shall never surrender.
