Oh, before I forget. I wrote all the tabs out on guitarTABcreator so if you want a printable copy, just let me know via my youTube channel. (send message on my profile page)
I never can understand why some people will dislike or critisize a video thats FREE and WELL DONE and made from the time consuming generosity of the people like this. The world is full of snots that have nothing better to do.
Hey man, Tks a whole bunch for taking the time to tab out these riffs!!! I was just about to start tabing when I came across your vid. Cheers! RayKennyCar
Yes, I figured this out without tabs, which cost me a bit of time, and do you think I remember the lick a day or two later. I use the tab as a memory tool, and I appreciate those who share their tabs to help us all become better musicians.
@Nelvis3 I love these people on Youtube that can't show the least bit of gratitude for the free lessons you all put up for us. Asking stupid questions like, "So if you learned these...needed tabs to start with?" I mean, how ridiculous. The answer is obvious, as you stated. Just because a song can be figured out without tab doesn't mean that's the best way to learn it. It's almost always adventageous for us to have either the sheet music or tab. It saves a lot of wasted time. Ignore those fools!
@Nelvis3 Thank you very much for this tab. I, too, loved Banjo Ben's lesson, but would have spent an inordinate amount of time trying to learn it without the tab. Good job.
i thought about this style of lessons with half screen guitar, half screen tab, i think its awesome and works alot better than any1 elses style of video teaching
Have to add my voice to say thanks for going to all the trouble of doing the tabs.
Banjo Ben seems like a really nice guy, he's already shown how he's committed to sharing music, like Joni Mitchel said "he played real good for free." What goes round comes round and I'm confident BB is cool with all of this. No such thing as bad publicity etc
I don't think he minds. I created this before he got his website up and running. I do enjoy his videos, and was thinking about buying some tabs myself. Tabbing is very time comsuming.
My understanding of pick direction is on the start of every measure it starts with a down stroke so it would always be down-up-down-up on a 4 beat measure and so on I may be wrong but that is how I understood it so just apply that method to the notes and with the first note start on a down beat
the pick direction is is important to gain speed, but isnt too hard to figure out if you play around with it. try starting D lick # 2 with an up stroke and alternate from there. this could help u with the other licks.
you said that you had a little trouble with that c lick, i was noticing that your left hand palm is very close to the neck which probably makes playing (in general) harder on yourself. i recommend giving yourself a little bit of room there by bringing your wrist/elbow down some and giving yourself enough room between your palm and the neck (about enough room to fit a medium sized tomato)
I appreciate your effort on that. As I watched the original video, I kept thinking I needed a TAB to follow offline. I like what you did with it. Are your TABs available apart from the video? (Like through e-mail or downloadable from a web site?)
very kewl to post this video . also a side note is once u get the right hand notes dont forget to pay attention to banjo ben's picking hand.
the notes banjo ben picks and or also pulls or hammers, in my opinion, give these phrases their voice as much or even more then the actual notes being played. ;)
Thank you so much for posting this. I'm going to work at this and try to get this down. I wish there were more bluegrass tabs available for rookies like myself.
Nelvis, Thanks man! This really helps us all out tremendously. BTW, is this a TAB program you uses? If so, what is it? Pretty cool.... Russ - Murphy TX
yes, I was in the middle of tabing this stuff out myself then saw your response. I think I will finish tabing for practice of watching a nother guitar then replay on my guitar. then I can check it on your vid. Thanx
