In this video a magician has a faster way to do it. Might take some practice but it looks cool! Check out "Axel Adlercreutz - Sweden's Got Talent 2009". (I can't add a link here but just search for it.)
I wanted you to know that I just came back from my doctors and it appears that I do not have a tumor in my brain so no surgery is necessary. I appreciate your willingess to post another video of tying shoes, but you need not do it just for me.
I just type slow. But I can't really think any faster than I type, anyway. I asks the cook to cut my steak, vlean my lobster, etc., whenever a difficult situation comes up. A good filet, however, can be cut with a fork. As far as dressing goes, I'll post shoe-tying, zipping up a coat, and tying a half-windsor next week when my taxes are finally done. I hate the AMT!
I forgot to mention, any other things you think might be helpful. One doesn't realize all things one does with two hands e.g. typing, eating, dressing, etc. Thanks, for being willing to help.
I was struck by your video, your sangfroid before the camera, & your kindness for doing this to help somebody out. It also got me thinking about how difficult doing some everyday activities one armed would be. Tying a shoe one-handed appears to be impossible, especially without the help of a prosthesis. This morning I tried putting on socks & jeans one-handed & felt quite defeated. Would love to see any more you make about how you successfully navigate the two-handed world with only one.
Tying shoes would be a big help. I work in a corporate context and I don't want to wear loafers everyday. I am just tying to prepare myself to live and do things as normally as I can.
Is is possible for you to do a video regarding tying shoes? It looks like I will have surgery to remove a tumor from my right temporal lope in my brain, and a side-effect will be that I will have limited use of my left hand. I am studying your video regarding ties since I have to wear one everyday at work.
Nice screen name. Jeez. I can't believe there has been a 1000 viewings of this video. A young guy who lost his arm wanted to see how I could get ready in the morning so I put this on-line so he could view it easily.
Hi! Thanks for your reply. You must have trained a lot for that! I never thought about a thing like that! I admire you for that! Were you righthanded before you lost your arm?

i can do a full windsor but i can't find a tie long enough. don't use a mirror, use feeling, it should touch your belt buckle.
tying shoes is easy with long fingers like mine but i still make it so i can just slip my shoes on without undoing them.

Well-executed video, esp. good quality compared to most here. I agree with theojtaylor--would like to see more one-armed approaches to everyday life.

Like what kinds of activities? I can tie a half-windsor knot too. So I can get that fat knot that is in style these days. I can tie shoes.
