Blue & Gold Macaw babies Play Time

My word! I am trying to handle a broken bird (Rainbow Macaw) that was caged for four years. Most of his "coming around" has been on his own accord but I hope one day he can be as playful as these guys. On occasion I will let him bat my hand around but sometimes he just squeezes it randomly. Why I do no know. Never hard enough to draw blood but significant enough to say ouch. Love the Macaws!

Are those hand fed? I heard that those birds become obsessed with their owners and completely dependent on them. The attack anyone who tries to come close to their "partner". In wild they are ALWAYS with their partners so leaving them even for a short period of time is suffering for them. It's cruel. Is it worth it? Birds aren't like cats or dogs, they are completely different. Is there any way to wean them so they would like people, staying birds ath the same time? Is buying a pair enough?

how loud are macws if them get right training and enough atention ? some people say them are loud and other say them now..

It really can't generalize, it depends on the individual bird and your level of noise tolerance. I've had some babies that have been extremely quiet, and others who simply loved to hear their own voice. Like people, no two are alike.

Thank you. Because I allow them to wean at their own pace, and give them much attention from the beginning, I've never had issues with stress bars anywhere on their feathers.
