Loved the photo montage & music, but have to agree with Nosuchnumbernine. Diana is very specific in her many very detailed descriptions of Jamie's features & none of these, IMO, bear even the vaguest resemblance to Gerard Butler. Whilst GB is undoubtedly a handsome guy, casting him would, I think be a cheesey money making decision rather than an artistically honest choice & therefore unfaithful to the books (IMHO). Jamie is out there, we just haven't found him yet. Cool vid though! Ta.

Thanks for watching. There is no way that they are going to get the cast right for this movie, there is always going to be fans of the books who are going to be disppointed. In some ways I hope they don't make a movie because it will as you said be unfaithful to the books and the story deserves better than that.

There will never be a 'perfect' Jamie, it is going to be extremely hard to find someone exactly like the description in the book, finding an actor of quality to pull it off is the secret. Jamie will have to be played by two actors, a young and an old. I fear that the detail of the books will be lost in the film.

Gerard Butler doesn't look at all like Jamie. Nothing against him, but c'mon... it's Jamie! You mess that part up, and the rest of it just goes down the tubes... I second that Gabriel Aubry's face has the right look in certain poses, and also Jason Lewis. A movie is a complete waste of about 750 pages worth of manuscript... it should be a miniseries, or a series to do it a tiny bit of justice. I know I'll be sadly disappointed, but still unable to resist watching!

I hope all this talk about a movie in 2011 is true. I don''t want to compare the two but maybe the release of "The Time Travelers Wife" made the movie execs move forward? I LOVE the first book and I am slowly working my way through The Fiery Cross. These are the best two charcters ever written. Their casting selections have to be perfect or the movie will not work.

Nothing against Gerard Butler but I won't watch if he's cast as Jamie either. If its to be believable the actors should all be fresh. Please continue to scour Scotland or the world if you must to get the right people. The ideal Jamie would be a Gabriel Aubry face, Jamie body and a true blue Scots brogue but perhaps I'd settle for a learned brogue if everything else is right..

Those were good choices for Jamie and Claire, although I think the actress is young enough she might be hard to age into old Claire, and Claire is older for MOST of the series. I would be very pleased if both of the leads were unknowns, although Gerard Butler always makes me smile. I'm so afraid they're going to cast one of the two leads poorly and ruin what could be an amazing movie!

Last I heard this was still being discussed with a production company. DG is adamant this is to be done right and I for one agree, wrong casting, chopping out bits of the book would disappoint so many who love this books. Problem is there are so many characters integral to the storylines and so much detail to cover.
