  • Do you need to apply any liscence from LTA or something to use the area, or did you just start dancing to the music suddenly?

I am planning to have a flash mob, so would like to know more about it. Thanks.

  • This is actually not a "flash mob" technically, as this was organized by a large corporation for publicity for the brand. And the communication methods involve more than just viral emails, social media, forums and there's money involved. :)

  • there are diffrent trypes of flash mobs tho.

once i saw a flash mob where everyone was in a subway (in the train) and one person fell down (like they fainted) and another, and another and so on and it was so scary because it was like someone was killing ppl or something. and everyone started panicking and then they all started standing up as if nothing happened and it was so funny!

  • the foreigners are like "wtf are these asians doing now" xD

  • I love flashmobs, its so amazing to see this!! :D:D

  • Cool =))

  • Shouldn't a flashmob be something that is a spontaneous action and not a co-ordinated dance ? Otherwise this a very nice part of Singapore that is starting to shape up.

Kudos to everyone involved, and to PussyRanger, fernandofhf and V3RTiGo7, this is no fail, this is an epic win.

  • @Duan369

    huh??

  • what r they flashing for?

  • Go Singapore! Fabulous. I love it.

  • i want to join!

  • How they get so many different people?

    Quite nicely done...

    greetz from germany

what a good reason to travel to singapore ;)

    breath taking .. realy .. i love it ;)

  • @MadeInCottbus btw... singapore just build the universal studios... i going there...

  • @MadeInCottbus hey, that's not the everyday thing okyee? its a privilege this "worked". To really see Singapore, you MUST EAT. The food is so various and plentiful... Hows Germany? never been there ;( You should also go to "non-tour-related-places" like pasir ris or habour front. ORCHARD ROAD IS A MUST! :D Hope you liked Singapore :)

  • Haha ! great to hear this !

  • This was really well done, especially how they ended it. It's pretty lame when people stand around and are like "Yeah great job everyone!" so this was perfect.

  • MAN I also loved to dance! Let me join! add some bboy will be dam COOL!

  • it was awesome... keep it up singaporean....

  • This is so ultimate COOL!!! I love it!

  • The dancers are good! =D

  • loved too

  • loved it!

  • this is also under "Singapore flash mob" better camera angle too

  • I was never at any of these happenings....

I juz wanna know the live version.

  • It is extremely difficult to organise a flash mob. Especially gathering of people. 20 people will take you 1 week to gather. Don't belive, ask the organisers themselves

  • Yes you may. In facebook. SG Flashmob

  • Haha does anyone know if there's an actual organisation or group where we can sign up for future events?

  • i wanna try it too :)

  • Thought the flash mob at vivocity was

a actual FLASHMOB but sadly, I think less

    than 50 attended. Shucks~

  • lol fun! i wanna try

  • keyboard warriors ! you guys can say all negative thingy , but in reality you are nothing , dare give negative comments and cannot produce better results . how ironical ?

  • OMG MCFLY ALL ABOUT YOU!!! sorry i loe mcfly XD awesommmeee!!!!!

  • cool awesome guys! :D

  • Well done! If i were at singapore, that would have definitely made my day !

  • u know how life in singapore can get very mundane and laborious...kudos to these people who dare to spice up and break the humdrum in raffles place

  • aw come on guys.. at least they bothered to bring the art scene to the public and at least they put in effort for it. regardless how lousy they dance should'nt we just be appreciative and grateful of the fact that they were just trying to do their own thing?

  • That's Cool!

  • FTR there were some 200 performers; the ad budget wasn't that big to pay all. In fact, most are students of a dance school (Studio Wu) which had also mobilized volunteers (spot the overweight & the non-dancers) in addition to proper dancers. Studio Wu has performed many public shows recently, inc. other flash mobs. But this project -- esp. the scale of it -- is more akin to a Chingay item.

  • hey, you've got a problem with it holmes?beta watch your mouth kid.keep your stupid comments to yourself.don't disgrace your family.i bet your country has got the worst looking ones.i bet if u gave anyone of them 5 bucks and they're willing to strip naked to let do ur thing.

  • hahaha later KPO auntie COMPLAIN LOR!!!!!!!!!!Because too loud!!!!!!!!!HAHAHA.

  • aiya.... whether or not this is a 'true blue" flash mob doesn't really matter lah... what matters is that it totally ROCKS!!!

  • Generally flash mob means a sudden and planned gathering of many people at a particular place that has been arranged earlier on an Internet website. All of the people do or say something that has also been planned earlier and then separate and leave quickly in different directions.

This is from online longman dictionary. What I guess is everyone is just reading off from WIKI which provides a good source of info, which is not exactly reliable.

  • Whatever, they are happy they get paid, people enjoyed it, HTC benefitted from it. So jackpot for eveyone but you.

  • lol i think you missed the punchline. People enjoyed it. You can argue about whether its a "REAL" flashmob for all i care.

  • i totally agree with u! it's like they're trying to ride on the cool image of 'flash mob'?! a publicity event is carefully organised and rehearsed. but the beauty of flash mobs is the fact that there's NO pre-rehearsals or whatsoever. the pure randomness of a group of ppl coming together to JUST-DO-IT!

  • Cool. Where did you guys get the information?

  • nice coordination :)

  • Ermm....The guinness book of world records will reject it. Flash mob is not a term to be used with commercial means. This is organized by a commercial company and with PAID dancers.

  • A flash mob is a group of people who converge on a spot at a specific time, perform some action, and disperse quickly.

doesn't matter the reason behind it - whether it's commercial or not.

  • The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via telecommunications, social media, or viral emails. The term is generally not applied to events organized by public relations firms or as publicity stunts.

    -WIKI

  • Cool, well executed ...

Flashmob in Sg have come of age :)

  • omg! wish i were there O_O
