You're so original **Yawn** This interview was done back in 1986--she hadn't even been in the business a full year yet, so I hate to disappoint you little girl, but NO she was not "high". Back in 1986 artists actually had to physically go to each radio station to promote their record, hitting 3 to 4 stations per state in the major markets. So if you can imagine having to be in 3 different states in a single day, when your day started at 5a.m.....

Let me just say that Patti can do nothing but yell sometimes. Her voice is not always good to hear. And Arthea her voice is ok to me. Whitney Houston is way better. Whitney Houston the one that deserves the 20 grammys Aretha has not some 6.

I have to agree with you on this one oldschool712,  I use to always love myself some Aretha and still do, I never really love patti singing that much ,because i agree she does a lot of screaming, that's just my personnel opinion, but my girl WHITNEY, got the voice i never heard before.

THats because she was jus in the beginning...she hasnt changed that much..and if uve endured as much scrutiny from the press...magazines...media. U would be a lil aggressive and defensive too...i mean the media has a tendency to twist ur words around too...and shes put up wit it 20+ plus..but she still remains a classy lady in my opionion
