why did they change the plot that much from the original, if you're making a remake of the original series, at least you can keep the original plot, and THEN when you're about to do the continued series you can do what ever you want to. it seems to me that Mr. King had made his own story, but still, he took some elements from the original, I mean what's with the strange creature that follows Mary? And why do we see a famous artist getting hit? that wasn't either in the original? but it's ok..

The anteater speaks because he's Antubis ~(We think Mary got it a bit wrong, he said he was Anubis and she thought he said Antibis so now he looked like an anteater) The crow speaks because...it's evil. And at this stage he's sensitive to the weird goings on around the hospital. and Blondy speaks mostly just because it's fun:)

@girlboho well antubis was orignally a human ghost but because of marys misunderstanding he turned into an anteater and the raven and the dog speak because it said in tis book that animals are very spiritual and cn cross over to the spirit world easier then humans so thats probabely why or you know how dogs speak dog language and all that animals can speak to each other but humans cant understand its like british people dont understand english people cuz they speak different languages

@dinophobiaXDRawr actually, in the original mini-series, Riget, there was only Mary...no talking animals of any kind. Riget was a Danish mini-series in the 90's and then redone by Stephen King. The Danish version is much more creepy than this one.
