I purchased my Contour HD GPS from Sporty’s Pilot Shop for $399.00. The Contour was wired for aircraft use. If you purchase this black model, the usage with voice for this cam is limited to aircraft use only. If you unplug the unit, the camera will still function but with no audio. I believe the maker has a newer model in Silver color where you can unplug the connector wire from the cam for normal use, other than aircraft. This was a good idea. I hope the info helps.
