  • actually, one thing i highly recommend is peppermint in the day. pop in a stick of peppermint gum, and it's actually been proven to reduce cravings. on top of that, make sure you eat healthy, whole meals. fatty, or sugary meals leave you feeling unsatisfied, which will only increase you likelihood of going back for more.

  • Hey I got a juicer. I was so excited to get a Jack LaLane juicer on Craigslist. So every1 looking check that out on that site. Got it for 50.00 and it was hardly used. So Getfit thanx for your encouragment. I am trying heard to eat better. I want to lose a small Hot Dog Lady about 25lb

  • If you crave, compensate by having a downsized snack. For me, I keep a lot of dried fruit around. Because it's dried, it saves well and it fills you up faster (from absorbing water in your stomach) so you aren't inclined to overeat. However, it's fruit so there isn't much unnatural sugar. You can also easily grab just a handful. I love the dried cherries, strawberries, pears, cranberries, and apricots. Try it! They're like healthy candy!

  • What really gets rid of cravings is time. When I was little, I liked MacDonalds. I'm 16 now and I haven't had it in 7 years. Every time I walk buy a MDs, I actually feel a bit sick from the smell. I've just found it's not satisfying or yummy anymore. WHILE you're combatting cravings, do what Chris says - find substitutes! For example, f you want popcorn, don't get the packaged stuff; buy plain dried corn kernels, pop them on the stove, add a dash of salt. That's how it's done the healthy way.

  • I freakin' crave bread ALL the time. I live for bread, seriously my favorite thing ever. It sucks.

  • @FictitiousMinds the first 20 i lost in like 3 months at the beginning of 09, I lost 10 more in like december and the last 22+ this year, ive been maintaining the last few months, but i am pretty sure im down about 2-3 more lb, but i havnt done an official weigh in.

    LOL "black hole of a mouth"...bah I hate when that happens. To answer your question...I usually crave sweets. Sometimes fast food type stuff but almost always sweets. I need to be conditioned to hate them lol.

  • I crave bread products. Like Ritz crackers and sourdough bread and potato chips. It's horrifying. Thinkin' that maybe pumpkin seeds might work as a replacement or something along those lines. I feel incredibly bad for not keeping up with your raw food deal a while ago. Mad at myself. RAR.

  • Thanks for this vid. This is my prob 100%. And then I think my lies aren't working out when I pass that reflection in a mirror or window and realize I ain't fooling anyone but myself.  Then I revert to childlike behavior and go into I want it mode. If I could just figure out how to be conscious in the moment and stop checking out until after the deed is done.

  • @Anjacina the only way we can learn is through repetition, so even if we fail as long as we are thinking about\ being healthu it ill ingrain itsef in us.

  • Yea, its really hard to deal with the cravings.. not only the culture, but really in the dna. For many years, we were told by nature to basically search out fats, sugars, and salts, as they were really hard to find in nature... not so much anymore. And yea, with the whole holding out, just give yourself a little treat every week or so, nothing big, just a lil bit to hold off that binge. As for what i crave... just about everything bad, except candy.

  • Good video! Yeah, cravings are pretty nuts. Like Bojangles for me. I haven't had it in about 2 months, I haven't enjoyed it so much the last few times I've had it taste wise and anytime I have eaten it it's made me sick, so why in the world I crave it is beyond me! But I still find myself wanting it. I just remind myself I don't wanna be sick!!!

  • I haven't had McDonald's in like years. Though every once in awhile a craving will come up but luckily, I'm too lazy to go and get it hehe. I remember eating their a few times and getting stomach aches though. Oh, and don't eat KFC! It's the devil!

  • Love this - you're absolutely right about cravings. Sometimes they are so hard to overcome. I crave breads, pasta, cheeseburgers, and sushi. I allow these things, but in small portions. I'm talking 3 to 4 ounces. I eat lots of veggies with them as filler. I always allow sushi because, really, I think it's quite healthy. My strategy - moderation!
