In life and death situation there are multiple variables that play in the body, sometimes it is direct and other times it is not. What I am trying to say is there is neither a right or a wrong way but the actual situation of the patients condition. M.D.s are now adopting this philosphy and are also taking into considerating the treatment for patients as a whole as well a directive approach.
Good question. Well an osteopathic physician has additional training in OMM muscle manipulation, but identical training to an allopathic MD. Both are medical doctors, thus you may have a DO that is a plastic surgeon. Nowadays OMM is not that big, so a DO is basically just another degree name, like DDS is to DMD for dentistry. You do have DOs that like to use there OMM as an additional tool though.
DOs are taught a very holistic approach to medicine, and want to treat the patient as a whole. Besides the problem at hand, they are thinking what other problem might be going on in the body, and try to prevent other interactions from occurring. I have heard from others that DOs have a great bedside manner and really care for the patient.
I'd liek to see the difference between a D.O. M.D. and a chiropractor
