Not sure exactly what you are asking. If you are asking just how not to lag by playing the game, well laptop is one problem. Because graphics and such might not be handeled well by the laptop. Otherwise, your singal to the internet is important. If that's not high, your ping will be pretty high which will give you lots of lag. But if you're asking how not to lag with Fraps. You just need a better comp or w/e, i lag when Frapsing vids.

I've had problems like that before, and usually all i do is move my antena. It boosts my internet signal right up. So if you have wireless, then that's your bet. Yeah it takes some time. I played for a while. Used to screw around and go for pure high damage pounces with my buddies. Fun as hell lol. We would go for who gets the most damage and shit. Really depends on the players. If they suck, shouldn't be a problem. xD
