8 gears are too many because the automatic will shift all the time steeling small amounts of power each time it shifts(and that's a lot) The offroading capabilities are not very good, while the road car ones aren't great either, being a very tall car.

So it's not a very focused car, it's an allarounder which only appeals to a limited target. Obviously not me, I'd rather have a Range Rover and a BMW 7 series for my day to day needs. And for pleasure I'd love to drive an M3, but who wouldn't? :-)
