I bought a cheap ukulele and it came with really crappy strings and I had some guitar strings so I used those. It sounded really horrible. I beleive baritone ukuleles use the same tuning as guitars but you probably have a soprano ukulele. Sopranos are the really small ones that you see most people on you tube with. Anyway steel guitar strings and on a ukulele did not work for me.
